    • My ex did, it helped for a very short while.

It’s funny, they used to (maybe still do?) market Wellbutrin under a different name for the smoking help, and insurance would cover it as the depression drug but not the anti-smoking drug.

    • I use a very low dose for depression.  I have some friends that used it, worked for most of them, some went back to smoking.  Good luck!

    • Thanks for the info..I’m starting on it tomorrow.  I only restarted smoking 2 weeks ago, but I’m already up to a pack a day..Ugh...  I stopped smoking for 10 yrs cold turkey after smoking for 20 yrs and I hate to admit this but when I stopped smoking I gained 100 lbs over a 10 year period, and since I started smoking 2 weeks ago I have lost 7 and a half lbs. Does this suck or what.. I told my Dr. today I’m on the nicotine diet, lol..I know, not funny and I will try the Wellbutrin for a while and see if it helps curb  my addiction.  The only thing that scares me is one of the 100 listed warnings were do not drink alcohol, and I do like to drink a couple wine coolers or hard ciders a week.  Maybe they‘re just talking about getting wasted on alcohol, which I never do, hate hangovers..

    • i just want to comment on the wellbutrin issue. i was prescribed wellbutrin some yrs ago and it does help with smoking and depression too. but there is a big thing about not drinking with wellbutrin cause it can make people suicidal, they say.!

    • If you have EVER had a seizure or a neurological disorder do not take this medication. It lowers the seizure threshold!

    • The doctor put me on it several years ago.  It about drove me insane.  I couldn’t stand myself much less anyone else and it didn’t even help with the smoking.  Try it though because what doesn’t work for one person works for another.
