    • Last time I saw my gyno I asked about this. She said it is a procedure generally for women who have VERY heavy periods and that it does not guarantee sterility if that is the goal you are going for. I know several women on this site who had it for the heavy periods and are so glad they did.

    • I just had this procedure done!  I had an endometrial ablation and tubal.  It took what seemed like forever to get to the point of getting it done!!  2yrs of messing around!!

I havent had a period since Feb. I still feel crampy & somewhat crabby, slight headaches around the time I would normally start.  I have a friend who had this done & she said she isnt even bitchy at that time of mth anymore. I told her..well if I wasnt bitchy might scare my husband! haha

I had a biopsy done in July 08 and OMG the freaking pain that was!!!  While it was being done I was holding my husbands hand and the Dr said...“oh your doing great!”

My husband said..grr in pain.. “I hope you can remove her nails from my hand..they are all the way thru!!!” lol I have delivered 4 kids almost died (er csection) during one so I know pain! lol

I then decided I WOULD be in the OR for the ablation! Choosing the tubal pretty much sealed the deal on that!  I did have a Dr tell me that “its a simple in the office 15min procedure..minimal cramping during that at the most 90seconds!”

HAAAAAAA insane! A male Dr telling me that! hahahaha Its totally different as far as the pain during the procedure for everyone.  I have read some say..they felt slight pain to OMG they almost killed me during it!

I am glad I did the tubal & the ablation at the same time! I had some recovery after & let me just say..that I needed pain medicine for the way my uterus was yelling at me after!! lol

Everyone has a diff experience..I can only speak for what I felt etc & I would recommend finding out as much info as you can pertaining to meds before and after.  Gadge the pain or discomfort you have had to other procedures as to what you might want as far as medicine prior to or after.

I have to say..most people I have spoken to have had great outcome with this, while a few have only had some relief of periods etc or 6mths without.

I wish you luck & hope you get relief soon!
