How many jobs does it take to survive today’s economy? When you are single just getting back to the work force and have a need to eat???

    • My daughter is single and manages to get by on one job, but.... she is very good at maintaining a simple cheap lifestyle.

      If I were single, I’d be living in my car and eating out of the dumpster, because even with 3 part time jobs, I don’t make enough to support myself and make my child support payment.

    • If I didn’t have to provide for my daughter and our cats, I’d sell most of my stuff and rent a room somewhere with utilities included for about $500.  When I ever find another job, i expect I’ll make enough to survive but not to save for my daughter’s college or for my retirement.  Social security had better not run out of money!

      It’s really hard to survive on sales/retail jobs! Most of the places I’m applying to expect you to work overtime (for free) so it’s almost like working two jobs.

    • I agree with catfan , I really was about two steps from doing that , It takes about 3 jobs to survive,I only have one but I really need 3 to stay on top of things,but I also cut back a whole lot on somethings that I was use to .

    • I drove a truck OTR for a year and was NOT making it!  It was so disappointing.  Freight is even slower now........
      It’s tough these days.
