    • I am actually building a wee bungalow for my Mum on a plot of land just opposite us. I am hoping it gives us best of both worlds. Close enough for me to pop food over, keep an eye etc but far enough away (5 yards!) to have some independence on both sides!

    • No, but my Mother had a stroke that left her paralyzed in Jan. ‘04 and Hubby and I closed up our house and moved into hers to take care of her until we lost her in Jan. ‘08.

Big change. I completely lost my life and myself. It was all about my Mother and Dad. Dad is not well either and just couldn’t do it on his own.

Wouldn’t change a thing, though. No regrets here. Mother was my best friend next to Hubby and I miss her dearly every day.

I would go aback and do it all over again and sacrifice as many years as I had to... Look at all she sacrificed for me!  I was adopted so she didn’t have to do that for me. That’s another story.........

    • My mother-in-law moved into a one bedroom apartment on our property about a year ago.  We live on 2 acres and she’s about 1/2 an acre behind our patio.  It has been quite an adjustment, my husband works 45-50hrs/wk and I own my own business.  We also have children.  However, she’s my husbands mother.  So what do you do?
