Q & A

How did you go about deciding your wedding date?

I’ve been married before and my now ex and I were married on the same date as the day we met.

My b/f of 6 year’s and I are planning to get married soon and can’t decide on a date. We met April 6th ,but don’t want to wait until NEXT April 6th and I know that I want to get married sometime between now and before September.

So how did you decide?

    • Actually Dianne ,that would be a great idea ,as we will be going to my b/fs brother’s house around that time and I was thinking that maybe we could get married at sunrise or sunset on the beach. They live near Ft Myers.

    • I actually got married 25 years ago today!!!  I always wanted to be a June bride...now..I wonder what the deal was....oh well.

Just pick a date that works for you both and for getting people together for the most part.

    • Terri, hubby and I wanted to do the same thing, get married on the same date that we first got together. That would have been November 12.  Unfortunately that fell on a Wednesday.  Nobody we wanted at the wedding could be there in the middle of the week.

So I suggested the following saturday. But if it couldn’t be on the 12th, he didn’t want to get married in November at all.  He’d been married in November the first time.

We had a lot of discussion.  The end of October is all cluttered up with birthdays and somehow we came up with mid October and set the date.  Then realized that was opening weekend of pheasant hunting season.  So we had a morning wedding so that anyone so inclined could still be out in the field by noon.

Well, in five years we’ve never had the chance to celebrate our anniversary as it always falls somewhere during opening week of pheasant season and I work at a hunting lodge.

If anyone asks me the date of my anniversary, I give them a blank look and say “opening weekend“.   Not sure, I think it’s the 18th.
