Q & A

Do you think Friendship is forever?  I have been thinking about this lately.  I made great friends in different settings, like work, church or other social settings.  But once I or they left the “mutual” setting, friendships subside.... I am a bit disturbed in general.

    • Some people do pass in and out of our lives and while there are there they add to it - but we all lead busy lives so sometimes we just can’t give people all the attention

    • I agree with Vicki...alot friends come and go in our lives but sometimes it is hard to maintain the friendship with our busy lives. Perhaps those that were really special to you make some time to keep in touch, have lunch or dinner or just go by and chat. I did that this afternoon with a woman who used to work with me. I stopped by to see her and catch up. I was really sad when she left the job but I’ve kept in touch by emails...phone calls every now and then and a visit. I hate to lose touch with people who touched my life in a special way. happy

My Mother showed it to me and it always comforts me by reminding me that not everyone is supposed to be your friend always, that not everyone is meant to like you and only very few with be with yyou

    • Lives change and so do people. We are very fortunate if we are able to hang on to a friend for a lifetime.

    • I recently changed jobs and this was a big issue for me in moving to a new job because I didn’t want to lose the good friends I had made there. I have kept in touch with four friends thru email, facebook, IM and text messages. I have also made various plans with each to meet for lunch, etc. It does take effort but I think that it is possible if you can stay connected and the friendship continues to grow and be supportive.

    • I wish you the best, MJ.  I tried that too but for some reasons, it will wear off.

Thank you for all ya ladies’ comments.  I just feel disturbed for it seems out of sight, out of mind.

    • It must be the packrat in both of us CD, I want to hold onto things and people forever too. I will see someone I was close to and lost touch with and I will remember everything about them and talk with them like no time has passed but they will not respond in the same way, so yes, I think out of sight out of mind too.

    • I believe that there are those who come in your life at that time that you need each other and when what ever the purpose is, has been fulfilled, then you move on.  Sometimes you keep in touch and sometimes you don’t.

I have had a lot of friends like that.  They come into your life to fulfill what ever need you may have for that time in your life.

I was once told by one of my best friends that all you need is that ONE good friend to get you through life.
I am blessed to say that I have 2 of those kinds of friends in my life.

I don’t know how long these beautiful friends of mine will be in my life, but they will forever be in my heart as I love them dearly and thank God everyday for sending them to me.
