    • too much, JJ....usually, if it is something important that I am working on...I let everyone know I need some quiet time and they are pretty understanding...otherwise, I put up with the “Mary, I can’t find this“, or “Mom, do you really need the car today.“...lol..estatic

    • Yes! Well, closing windows on the computer, such as FB and Fab50 (no, say it isn’t so!!!), help to minimize distractions. I have a do not disturb sign when I really need the solitude, but I also have to point it out to people or they don’t see it! I also put my cell on silent sometimes.

    • No I am not easily distracted...so I can’t offer any tips or techniques...oh look  a pony....

      Sorry I couldn’t resist either...

at work I have been told I have a “leave me the EFF alone” look....

at home I have to close my door and tell the kids to leave me alone so I can get what I need to do done, the sooner I get done the sooner they get to have me back and my undivided attention...I wish I had that look at home too...

    • OMG am I ever! It has gotten worse since I’ve gotten older. Mostly when it comes to reading. When I read I have to turn everything off and put in ear plugs so I won’t be distracted. It’s hard for me to focus for too long on one thing. Not sure why that is.

    • I’m very easily distracted and I find that, oh look, there’s my glasses, hey, look here’s those earrings I’ve been missing for a month.....

Huh?  Oh yeah, I ifnd that lists help.  Keeps me on track getting things done for the day, reminds me I have to stay on task to get it done.

Also, setting a time limit for myself to get a particular thing done forces me to focus on that one thing.

    • Me too. It’s the same at work and at home.  I have no idea why I do it.  Could it be abit of ADD?  I’m afraid to ask my doctor.  Maybe I really don’t want a label.  I will try Tuliplady’s idea of list.  Maybe that will help.  Oh yeah I also forget where I put things.  Hopefully the list won’t be one of them.

    • Ladies, let me share with you. I was diagnosed at 11 with what is now known as ADHD. Back then they didnt know what to do so they put me on tranquilizers. Guess what, that didnt help. So for many years I really struggled, but learned how to cope. With the death of my husband last year I lost it and went to my doctor. She then put me on several things but one of them being a drug for ADHD. Oh My Word!!! Can I say, what a damn (sorry if i offend) difference!!!! I told her that I had been dealing with this on my own and had no idea how much energy I was using up until I started on medication. Now it might not be for everybody, but please dont shun it because of fear... it has made the biggest difference in my life and I have no intention of going off of it!!!! EVER Is it a cure all, no. But it truely does help me to stay focused and to just keep things going... if I can help, just let me know...
