Q & A

Ladies, (for those of you who go out to the Bars & Clubs especially)do you expect a guy to buy you a drink if he steps to you with conversation? I was reading an article in a magazine and there was a scene where the guy was at the bar and the woman approached him! in conversation he wasn’t really interested in her, but she was very persistant to talk with him. He orders himself another drink while still chatting with someone else he turns his back from the approacher for a moment to continue his chat with the person he was talking to and she put her straw in his drink and dranked it all, he was furious.(In my opinion she was way out of order and didn’t warrant a drink from him in the first place) So ladies I ask do you expect a guy to order you a drink just because he is conversating with you?

    • No...I don’t expect anyone to buy me a drink...if they offer one that is a different story...happy I think the woman in the article was plain rude...to think that someone should buy her a drink just because she is talking with him is plain rediculous...for me anyways...lol

    • I think the guy should buy a drink, I’m not necessarily going to accept it, but I am more open to conversation if I feel that you have a clue about bar and club etiquette.

    • Well I don’t go to bars or clubs but I do think that this woman was way out of line. That was ridiculous on her part. I’m thinking she may have done that because he wasn’t paying her enough attention. But there are women who do think men should buy them drinks in exchange for their conversation...or buy them a new car or house in exchange for...well you know. It’s all crazy!

    • I agree with you 100% Ang68. I have been away from the club and bar scene for over 15 yrs. and from what I’m hearing from those who still frequent them the game is still the same, but you are so right these women today or even in yesterdays times got it all wrong no man has to offer to buy you anything. And especially just for conversation phleeeeeeease get real. I was one who always bought my own drinks but don’t get me wrong there were plenty of men who offered some I would except and other’s I’d turn down because of their motives, but in my opinion to each there own. happy

    • Back when I did go clubing and hung out at Bars, If I expected a man who was talking to me to buy me a drink, I would have never made It home. There use to be alot of conversations between men at bars, It was just the thing and I was more talkative when I had a few drinks that I had bought myself. And for that lady to stick her straw In that man’s drink and drink It Is just plain Ridiculous!! Somethings wrong with her.

    • I agree with Frannie.  It was very stupid of the woman to steal someone else’s drink.

    • Yep, she was totally out of line. But, I still like guys who go out of their way to find a chair for me while we are talking, and offer me a drink. I may not want one, but it is nice to offer.  I met a guy recently, who bought me a drink and didnt complain that I was drinking water. (which cost the same as mixed drinks) When I was ready to leave, he was a perfect gentleman and opened the door and tipped the valet. I called him the next day, and he asked me out on a date.  I went out with him a couple of times but my divorce was still fresh, and I wasnt ready for a relationship.  So, I guess my point is that sometimes it gives you a clue about how interested they really are.

    • Not only no, but HELL NO!!

I am just as likely to buy a guy a drink.  But, a guy doesn’t owe you a drink just because you‘re talking to him.
