    • My oh my... Did I just read where Annie said fixins???

What is the world coming to ....

My NYC girls, Annie says fixins, Susie post about biscuits and gravy and mac and cheese.

      I am loving it...

At out Italian house... It is Christmas. Everybody brings FIXINS...haha Really it looks like a buffet. There has to be at least 10 to 12 cakes and pies. Oh, boy I can’t wait. Just thinking about it. Mom bakes a ham on low for several hours. Girls, the meat just falls off the bone. My son can eat a dozen deviled eggs by himself. We always have to make plenty for him.

Speaking of deviled eggs, How did it get that name???

    • I’d have to say Thanksgiving and Christmas! I have my favorites on both holidays. I love some dressings and cranberry sauce and Patty LaBelle’s over the rainbow mac ‘n cheese. Yummm !!!! I miss my grandmothers home made rolls. They were to die for and God rest her soul she not with us now and nobody can come close to her rolls.

    • Sign me up with Jackie and Yana... if there’s food, it’s my favorite.

For my family, I think they really love Christmas because it’s one of the few times all year I’ll cook, and I cook my ass off. I love to bake and make food gifts (one year I did a spicy cranberry salsa with spinach tortilla chips that I’ve yet to outdo) and will chase people out of the kitchen. The rest of the year, though, I avoid it like the plague.

    • Thanksgiving for the sheer variety!! My ex had a recipe for a cranberry relish that put those jellied cans to shame.

When my mom was alive, her Christmas Eve dinner was da bomb!! Chilled shrimp, prime rib, several delicious and special side dishes, and some fabulous dessert.

    • A holiday where a nap is encouraged right after eating? Could it be any more perfect?
