    • Still trying to figure out the “one” that I really enjoy.  LOL  But I hate collections.  I hear every excuse in the world when I call a customer on past due’s.  tongue out

    • One thing I hated about my job was giving formal performance reviews to my staff.  I gave my employees feedback daily so we could work together in harmony and avoid pent-up resentment.  I felt it was better to address problems immediately, and I totally enjoyed giving compliments and praise when a job was done well.  So to give a formal review seemed so phoney to me.  And it made the employee nervous.  I’m not sure they ever really heard what was being said in such a sterile setting anyway.

But I loved the problem-solving part of the job.  I enjoy working with data, and trying to unravel intricate problems involving numbers and the flow of data.  Working in financial institution gave me lots of those sort of opportunities.

Go ahead, call me a nerd, it’s ok.  After all, I’m an accountant so it goes with the territory.

    • Angel - yes debt collecting is my bug bear .... so now I make people pay up front for work on some of the businesses otherwise it’s over to Bill the accountant he just takes no prisoners and he has this boy who is very irrating who he sends to sit in their office to collect cheques etc; strangly enough they pay after this gangling, sniffing spotty boy yawns , scratches his bits and coughs in their reception for half an hour ..... I love Bill for this

    • Tamra ..... my accountant went to school with me his father worked for my mother and he is wired like me so he is super maverick ...

His little office junior goofer is picked for his obnoxious juvenile ways – all those fabulous late teen boy traits are excellent when confinded to a posh reception area while debt collecting and yes that little boy always returns with the prize and we never have to send him on a second trip ....... Bill must be the only employer who encourages his staff to scratch their balls in public - thats why his clients love him ...

    • Term - I hear ya on that one!  I have the same problem with the guy’s here.  I’ve told them a thousand times to provide the COMPLETE address on invoices and they leave of the zip!

Peepers & Vicki, that is my least favorite thing to do.  It’s funny because when someone is extremely rude to me I tell my boss and when HE calls’s, well.........they have a completely different tone.  Imagine that!  Vicki - now I’ll probably have an image of some deadbeat scratching his balls while he’s making excuses and being rude.

    • I really like my work but have to admit that the cleanup and putting chocolates into little glassine cups is not much fun. At some point I may hire a helper to do the stuff I don’t like to do.

I also enjoy the creative process when making something new. After I get it down to a science I’d like to turn production of some of my chocolates to someone else so I’m free to just create and monitor for quality control.

    • I’m with Cynthia, clean up is no fun.  Doesn’t matter whether I’m cooking or painting, the clean-up is the worst part of the job.

Can’t really pick out a “best” part.  Except for cleanup, it’s all pretty good.

There so cute.happy And just petting the guine pigs and looking at the reptiles thru the windows of course..lol, I’m to chicken to pet them.

What I loathe, I guess you can say when I get a rude customer, now and then there can be some really rude ones. But I guess thats everywhere. Other then that, I Love my job.estatic

What I loathe is outspoken customers and paperwork.  One tip that does work is to “kill the client with kindness!”

    • I love my job, and although I don’t love everything about it, I can’t say that I hate anything either. My least favorite would be a tie between dealing with insurance issues or the petty tattling that occasionally breaks out between the young volunteers. I have to deal with much tougher issues than those, but they don’t annoy me like these do!

    • I am a collection paralegal and secretary to one of the partners at the law firm where I work.  My favorite part of the job is doing the investigation on a debtor when I receive a new collection case (except at this time of the year - then I just want to “bury” all my cases until the holidays are over).  The part of my job that I absolutely loathe is filing.
