    • I agree with all of the above. One thing that I do since I have a sedentary job is wear a pedometer and try to get my 10,000 steps in a day. I also agree with Darlene and try to visualize myself smaller and more buff. A personal trainer told me that this technique is used by body builders.

    • My best tip is just to get up and get moving.

I’ve found that what I eat doesn’t make near as much difference as how active I am.  I think every woman has to find what works for her specifically.

    • Fasting from sunrise till sunset.  It is very healthy, spiritually and physically cleansing, and I lose 8 - 9 pounds a month this way.

Right now, tomorrow is the second day of Ramadan and day one flew by, as I was readying the new villa, and my sis-in-law cooked!  So, you are not really concentrating on the hunger, I find, unless you are idle.

I usually get caffeine headaches, as I go through my morning coffee withdrawal.  It varies, but, it something I know I can count on.;-

Sooooo, I will lose, let’s say 8 pounds this month, and I will feel great!

      (No hatin‘)!

    • Exercise and portion control.  I found I can’t eat as much now as I did when I was younger.

    • I learned a lot from a web site called www.livestrong.com
I realized I was NOT eating enough. It’s hard to believe, but true. I have also cut down drinking my favorite thing which is sweet tea. I also believe that getting your body moving doing anything is the key.
(Not eating enough burns muscle and causes your body to hold onto fat as well)

    • do not ‘diet‘, have a healthy diet!

Lots of water and real foods with real fats and not sugar free crap.
All in moderation and lower your bread intake.

    • My advise is be patient and take it slow.  In a society of I want it now, taking time to lose so that you can maintain is a lot better than losing 30 pounds in 30 days (ha!), especially if you are morbidly obese.  You have to learn how to maintain which for a whole lot of people is the hardest part about losing.  Also, strength train a least 3 times a week and not with those barbie doll weights either, start out with a least 10-15 pounds for large muscles and 5-8 pounds for smaller muscles.  After about 2-4 weeks go heavy, you won’t bulk up...trust me.  Better still, use your own body weight, it doesn’t cost anything. happy
