    • I’m pretty sure I only dream in black & white.

Although most of the time I wake up with simple fragments that don’t make a bit of sense and are fleeting (the longer I’m awake, the less I recall), sometimes (like this morning) I can remember details right down to sounds and smells. But no colors!

    • I often dream in colour and yes I remember smells and small details very vividly........
I used to have a re occurring one where I was in a rowing boat and in the middle of the lake was an island and all my friends where on the beach partying – loud music and a big bonfire and a BBQ...... but I just didn't have the energy to get to the island so two friends used to swim out and tow me in. I always woke up so I never knew if I got to eat and dance ......
Recently it has been me in bed in a strange room and I wake up and the long bedroom windows are open and the very fine net curtains are billowing but I can't get out of bed to shut the windows as they are banging and I'm frightened they will wake other people up – I know it's just rained as I can smell that rain fresh earth and pine smell .........

Goodness knows what this means .............anyone good at dream interpretation ?

    • It depends on If the dream was good. I sometimes remember my dreams when I wake up, but when I want to tell my hubby or my friend about them, all of a sudden I forget what I was going to tell them, like I waited to long..lol
I have some really strange dreams and mine are usually In color.

    • I was just googling for information about dream colors, and found [Link Removed] that claims...

Black and white is a function of televisions when the colour information is removed, but the same is not true of the mind.

Basically, this particular explanation states that the colors of things are more or less unimportant in our dreams, so even the fragments of the dream we can recall will be colorless to us, although it is impossible to dream in black and white. If we do remember colored parts of our dreams, according to this site, then the item of color was relevant to the dream.

But most dreams are so out-there, I have a hard time establishing what relevance there might be anyway. I had a horrific psycho-abduction dream last night, and it is still very clear in my head right now (probably because I told my husband about it right away this morning).

    • Heather I’m laughing at the comment:

“_So, if the queen of England visited and brought a few aliens round for tea you’d probably be working out if you’d got enough cups and whether the biscuits you’d got would be acceptable, rather than thinking that it was a bit odd to be visited by the queen and some aliens._ ”
Because I would be sending Alice to the shop for nice nice biscuits ....human nature I suppose

    • Yeah, I found that pretty funny, too.

And no mention of the fact that you don’t notice if the aliens are green or not. ;)

    • I think I dream in color.

Once my husband and I decided to get a dog- He worked the night shift and I had a heck of a time getting to sleep. I would finally fall asleep around 2-3 am and have to get up to get the kids to daycare around 6am-

One night I had a dream about a black chow named Tasha.
The next day my husband called me at work and told me that he thinks he found this great dog and he thinks shes perfect for us.
I said (is it a black chow?) and he was like how did you know? and I just said “her name is Tasha”

    • I dream vividly and frequently remember my dreams, at least right when I wake up.   And they‘re certainly in color, though that is usually irrelevant.

Some of them are so odd or scary they stay with me.  Last night I dreamed I was at work at one of my jobs only things were really, really strange compared to what they should be.  Last night I noticed the color because the ham was burned.  Nice and pink in the center and blackened on the outside.

Bernadette, I’ve had dreams similar to the house dreams you are talking about.  I’m not sure what it means either, but for awhile I was having a LOT of those sort of dreams where I found more rooms to teh house I was in.  Very odd.  I wonder if it means there is room for improvement or we‘re looking for more of something?
