Q & A

Do you look at your hands and remember all that they have been through and how much they have accomplished. Even if they are not as good as they use to be. YOU still have them.

    • No but I have since you posted this question.  Now days I wake up and rub my hands because I believe I’m getting arthritis and they don’t always feel so great.  After a few tylenol arthritis they feel much better.

    • Yea the things we put our hands thru.  We are very rough on our hands because we do so much in a day.  I have smashed my hand and stilled worked.  I have cut a corner off of a finger and still worked.  My hands if they could talk would tell me they were taking a hike because they are over worked and under appriciated.  I am very rough on my hands because I have to be quick at work and do a lot of banging and cutting and burning.  But I still have them and I know one day I may not be able to move them but till that day I will keep going. There are days when they hurt so bad I just want to cry and I can tell when the weather is changing. A little pain never killed me yet.

    • just the other day I looked at my hands and remembered how people used to comment on how pretty they were. I even thought at one time about being a hand model. Now they are wrinkled, dry, full of knicks and popping veins. I look at my hands now and I see the hands of my mother.

    • Love that song by Jewell, Catfan!
Mostly, I wish they weren’t so sun spotted. Thank you for reminding me...I folded them Sunday School in prayer, sucked my thumb in contentment, played the piano, waterskied, sewed clothes, did my Grandmother’s hair, drove for the first time (LOVE to drive!), held my first love’s hand, held sheet music as I sang in Europe, processed words, cleaned and decorated homes for a living, held my left one out for Michael to place a ring on, clutched the bedsheet while giving birth then guided my child’s tiny head to nurse, spanked (yes, I did, and they haven’t sued me yet!), clapped for “Rocky” and performances and awards of my children, bandaged my husband’s leg, helped my mother walk, pet my dog, and typed this comment at one of my favorite “places” EVER!!
