    • Yes, Peeper I do...look at FDR, Eleanor Roosevelt was such an inspirational woman and she stood by him through thick and thin...when you hear of men succeeding in business, in the medical field, etc..many times it is their woman that has sacrificed and put them through school, worked two jobs, paid bills and kept the home running...without the female “push“, I don’t think some men would be where they are today.happy

    • Yes, I do believe that behind every man there is a smart and patient woman.

My favorite anecdote is when Barbara and George Bush are walking through the white house and see a janitor.

Barbara recognizes the man immediately, gives him a hug and introduces him to George saying that they went to High School together.

Later that night George kisses Barbara goodnight and says:“Darling, you could of been janitors wife“.

Barbara looks George in the eye and without missing a bit says: “If I was his wife darling, he would of been President of the United States“.

    • Well, I feel it is more like BESIDE every great man is a WONDERFUL woman, however most of the time she steps off into the distance and lets him take all the glory. It is truly a virtuous man who gives her the credit that is due. I give you 2 examples..

      1. John Glenn. Most of us know him as an accomplish pilot, astronaut, and Senator. Having had a conversation with him about his accomplishments some years ago he credits his wife Annie. He told me he would have been unable to do most of what he did without her unwaivering support.

He was recently given an honor at Ohio State University which I had the pleasure of witnessing. They have a tradition which dates back to 1936 in which one band member “dots” the “i” in OHIO during the bands performance or script Ohio and in the years since then only a rare few non-band members have done so. In honor of the Navy AND Ohio, John Glenn was invited to “dot” the i last Saturday during the halftime show. He AND his wife Annie walked onto the field in unison. That showed how much he honored his wife.

      AND

2.The day my husband got his Masters Degree I had arranged to have his family join us in celebration for his graduation because he had worked SO hard. He worked full time the entire time he was in school and took care of me, so for finally getting his degree was special. What does he do? He had gone and bought ME flowers and a wonderful gift as a thank you. He made it clear that he could have never finish college without me poking and prodding him, let alone his graduate school, so he was celebrating the person who made it all possible.

So do I believe in that saying?

Well, I rarely see a successful man without a woman there for him.
