Q & A

When my period was at its heaviest day 2, 3 I would need to change tampon every two hours. Just recently, aged 42, it’s been like every 1 hour, for about 8 hour period... Today I got caught out at work, a close call ... Anyone else experienced this?

    • I’m going thru the same thing, also age 42.  Some months are worse than others.  The months that I have a normal flow instead of super heavy, then I have hot flashes.

    • How long does this stage before menopause last? I think I had this like two years ago, once or twice lol. Not sure about the hot flushes, I thought I had this, but doesn’t match symptoms I’ve heard described.

Discussed this with my GP last year, but blood tests revealed not pre menopausal ... geez, I think men get a easy deal !!8*$2

    • I’m in the same boat as you are.  Today is one of those days....going through a super+ tampon and super plus pad every 40 minutes.  Just gotta stay off my feet today til this subsides a little.  I’ve actually been experiencing very heavy periods ever since I got my tubes tied.  I was 26.  It has steadily worsened over the years.

    • Wish I found you ladies two years ago. After 100’s of tampons and accidents, anemia, anxiety medication, and lack of a love life...I was going off the deep end.

After numorous complaints to my GYN with no results (the pill??? right, at age 45!)  I finally went to my PCP she felt something strange and sent me for an ultrasound. Bingo..two very large fibroid tumors. (And why didnt my GYN ever find anything)?

3 months ago I had everything but the ovaries removed! There is a God! I have never felt better!

So, ladies, go get it checked out! Changing tampons every 30 minutes and feeling like your uterus has just dropped out isn’t the best way to live.

    • My period started becoming so heavy, that I found out I had fibroid tumors and had a hysterectomy. I kept my ovaries and it was the best thing I ever did!
