    • My Mom insists on making mashed turnips for Thanksgiving. She wonders why there’s so much left over after dinner.
I like bread cereal, only with white bread and sugar.

    • My husband, son and oldest daughter all eat those NASTY sardines in tomato sauce out of a can.  I can’t be in the same room with that!

When i’ve been sick, my first “get better meal” is usually cream of asparagus on buttered toast.  Everyone tells me that’s disgusting...but it’s comfort food to me...my mother used to make it!

    • I love White Castle! There are none here, but I used to devour them when I lived in Chicago. When my best friend visits me, I make her bring me a sack! She said she gets the funniest looks on the plane!
In the South we have Crystal, close but no cigar.

    • I think the only food on that ‘menu’ above that would hit my plate are the pinto beans and cornbread.lol. I would try the asparagus and okra, but everything else just doesn’t sound very tasty, especially cows tongue, raw clams and sardines in any sauce :b

    • Alligator tail. We absolutely love it.

I also like beef liver and onions and chicken livers, but Scott would rather eat the bugs that Annie passed on, lol.

    • Wow - reading some of the items above about made my stomach curdle...  Yana, I’ve had tongue - BLICK!!  My grandfather’s favorite breakfast was brains (beef brains) and eggs... I smothered it ketsup!!  My family loves oyster stew... Mom also makes scalloped oysters for Thanksgiving...  We also do a soup on Christmas Eve that is made with: sauerkraut, kielbasa, mushrooms, barley, ham hocks, and a few other ingredients... Sounds blicky, but is actually very good.

I love my Grandmother’s recipe for Rolladens (Czech)and my recipe for Bracciole (Italian). These are recipes with meat stuffed with fillings and simmered in sauce. YUMMY!
