Q & A

8 Million “Stiletto Stoners“.....Did you see on The Today Show their story about 8 million women who come home from work and smoke a joint rather than having a glass of wine to relax/unwind. What do you think about that.

    • They interviewed a magazine editor who wished to remain anonymous because of her job.  But she is very educated and said she prefers to come home and smoke a joint to unwind.  The story went on to say how people who smoke aren’t the stereotypical types portrayed in movies or only hang out in parks.

    • For some strange reason who knows why the UK government decided to legalise cannabis around 5 years ago and we now have growing high potent strength skunk – which has caused a massive increase in psychiatric problems for regular users and the biggest admissions are middle aged "stoners" who are suffering from paranoia – the wonderful law says smoking is legal yet growing and cultivation is illegal ( go figure ) so every week you read or see big drug busts where people are renting properties and just turning them into huge greenhouses with filtration / sprinkler systems and those special lights etc; the police helicopters buzz over estates and do heat checks as they can spot excessive heat ......
The problem is people were used to just getting a lift or a buzz but are with this potent skunk flipping out and having all kinds of problems – thankfully we are about the have a change in Government to hopefully repeal of this law .........

    • Good point Mellisabelle about getting a new job! I just couldn’t do this unwinding. I wasn’t even interested in it as a young person and now I just couldn’t see myself doing this.

    • I guess it depends on the person and what they need to unwind..me personally I would rather put on my sneakers and go for a jog...but I don’t pass judgement on how others deal with stress as long as nothing is forced on me.happy

    • I personally don’t see anything wrong with someone who want’s to sit in their home and smoke a joint.  I don’t smoke cigs, I don’t drink alcohol at all.  I also don’t have “growing houses” either.  There are excesses in anything.  But I know many professional people who smoke in the privacy of their own homes and they do no harm to anyone.

Give me a good glass of wine or a dirty martini instead.

      Cheers!

    • I am someone who used to “blaze” a couple of spliffs with friends when out partying or relaxing at home. But I decided to stop when a job I knew I was perfect for, required pre-employment drug testing, and I knew I wouldn’t pass. I said never again. Money in my pocket is way more important than money up in smoke!

    • No, unfortunately I didn’t see the show, but I would have loved to!!! lol lol
I’m happy to hear that some people are finally getting it - that smoking pot is much better than alcohol if one has to have some sort of vice - and most of us do. I have been smoking pot since the 70’s, and still do - nowhere nearly as often or as much as then, but still definitely enjoy my night time wind - down.....I’m not saying that because I’m proud of it, but because it’s the truth and I think people need to be educated and learn more about what they don’t know - especially before having an opinion about it.
I’ve never really liked alcohol - it doesn’t like me either. I feel the effects from ANY one drink, and then I have to stop because I don’t want to feel absolutely awful the following day (yes - any more than 1 drink).
Now, I have to add to this that I DON‘T condone smoking in front of kids; and I wouldn’t encourage many people to start smoking it if they don’t want to. But, on the other hand, I KNOW it’s less harmful; it is NOT addictive (yes, one may want to continue smoking, but it’s not physically addictive like speed, meth, cocaine, etc. Pot is NOT anywhere near the same category of any of those drugs.
For me, it calms me down, relaxes me, removes the anxiety, and just makes my mood pleasant and relaxed.
