has anyone tried the Paleo diet? what did you like/dislike about it? thanks.
I love it. I follow the paleo lifestyle [it is not a diet, but a healthy way of eating] from a man who has had MS since 1953.

We are taught to believe all the bs about red meat, fats, etc. But, we as humans are meant to eat meat. Hence our canine teeth. Our bodies need real fat and we need natural sugars as well.
I lost 20 pounds last year follwing this lifestyle. It took about 3 months, and I felt so much better. It did get me walking again, but it helped with fatgiue, cognitive issues, my IBS [gone], leg swelling, and an array of other issues.
I found the vitamins that work for me and make sure to get omega 3’s NOT omega 6, that is what harms the heart.
At the beginning of this year we made the stupid mistake of eating like crap again.
So, now we are back to eating healthy again. [since Vegas. we cheated there. lol]
To be healthy and lose weight you need to eat food, real food.
Supplements, powders, sweetners, etc are all processed foods. Is that really what we should put in our bodies?
I am living proof that this heathly eating lifestyle works and with minimal exercise.
All I can use is a motorized pedaler and light arm weights.
The saying ‘you are what you eat’ is completely true.
The only downfall is I love bread, but alas, not allowed. lol
Stay away from corn, potatoes, high starch foods, anything gluten.
I do do a bit of dairy, mainly eggs for protein. I never gave up my coffee either. Whic my doctor said is fine as coffee has been found to have good antioxidents in it. Who knew!! lol
pm me if you have any more questions.
xx
Wow, never heard of it, sounds awesome. Seems to follow the same principles as the “Eat Right For Your Type” Diet, meaning blood type..type O’s are hunter gatherers so lots of meats etc., being mostly Mediterranean, and Type A and B’s are typcially OF Scandinavian decent, etc and they survived on berries and less protein, etc.
Glad you have success! :)
it is exactly like the hunter gatherer, where it stems from.
We only eat meat that is free range, NOT corn fed. No farmed fish etc.
Totally cool topic! My hubby and I are actually starting the Mediterranean Diet/Lifestyle..which is a diet naturally low in carbs, high in fiber and a low glycemic index.
We eat this way anyway, but throw alot of extra garbage right down our gullets! (yuck)
