    • I do not like flying either. Have avoided it and drive everywhere. My mother was like that also. She only flew one time in her life and had to have several drinks before she would get on the plane. Maybe that would work for you.happy

    • I get freaked out too, although I’m not afraid of the flying itself. I just hate being so crammed in with all those people.

The drinks work for me, too. ;)

    • I always recite the Lord’s Prayer over and over on takeoff and landing.

    • I’ll be conversing thru i.m. with all of you on my way to San Diego. lol
I will find out tomorrow if I am going for sure. Keep your fingers crossed- it’s for a photography endeavor that will likely change EVERYTHING for me is the best ways ever. I’ll be cryin happy tears if this goes through.

I don’t know what my deal is... just been a bit of an ‘anxiety ball’ recently and it is getting old-old-old.

    • I love flying and always have – I love the airport (at times ) the anticipation of lift off and come down I can even count accurately how many bumps the tires do before we stop as I can guess on initial impact – how sad is that.
Now freaky business partner and best friend hates flying OMG he is a wreak – on his last flight with me in 1988 he broke two of my fingers as he was clutching my hand so tightly ......... we went down the steps with him having a big red slap mark on his face and me holding my hand ........but he is a freak and his glass is always empty .... the eternal doom merchant.
I can tell you stats like more chance of a car accident 5 mins from your home than a plane accident etc; but to me it's the actual sensation of flying above the clouds and the fact it to somewhere new and exciting .......

    • I love to fly..especially the take off and zooming down the runway! I was a little afraid to fly the first time and I wanted turn around and go back down the stairs except for the fact there was a crowd behind me and I had no choice but to get on. Once we took off and we were in the air I was fine!happy

    • I never set foot on an airplane till I was 40.  The whole idea of it freaked me out.  Then I had an opportunity to go to Chicago and I REALLY, REALLY wanted to go and flying was my only option.  I took my 14 yr. old daughter, faced my fears without booze and got on the plane.

I don’t think I’ll ever like take-off and landing, but I would definitely fly again.  as the old commercial says, “just do it”

    • I don’t fly. Had something happen when I was around 11 years old on a short trip upstate. Turbulence is God’s way of saying you should have stayed your crazy a$$ home.

My buddy in California is trying to tempt me to her coast and gets upset when I say I’d rather travel by train. I tell her I didn’t say I wouldn’t come at all, just will have to travel by train. Hey I didn’t say bus!
