    • We send the most on our boys and their families. That is around $1500. Everyone else we have a $25 limit which is around another $500. We also have Christmas Eve dinner (13 people), Christmas Brunch (14 people) and Christmas dinner (up to 30 people) at our house. With all of this going on we also celebrate our Daughter-in-laws Christmas Eve birthday. We try and make her birthday the highlight on Christmas Eve day. So between gifts, meals and snacks I don’t even want to think about the bottom dollar. Though I would not change a thing. I love being with my family on the holidays. I also love watching them rip open their presents. It brings me much joy!!!!

    • We finally answered this question ourselves tonight, so I can finally answer it here...

We’ll average about $40 each for the folks were buying for, which includes 4 grown children (and 2 w/spouses), my parents and a couple of close friends.

We‘re probably likely to spend a bit more on our granddaughter, although we don’t believe in going overboard by any means. Maybe as much as $60 including clothes, books and toys to be split between her house and ours.

    • That’s really cool,Linni, that you make your gifts. I used to do that many years ago. I just don’t have the time for it anymore.

Teeky, I just can’t believe you have girls 19 and 20 years old, you don’t look much older than that yourself!

If I had to guess, I’d say we spend about $1000 total including holiday meals. We have 7 grandchildren to buy for, 3 nieces/nephews (under 18), 5 parents, and our 3 grown kids and their partners. We really don’t do much for each other for Christmas. I always get my husband a Camaro calendar. Maybe some maltballs! ha!

Anyway, all that said, I’d like to not spend so much. I’ll keep track this year and let you know if I do any better!
