    • I would not wear things like gym shoes or sweat shirts. I would dress up a nice pair of jeans with some boots and a sweater. (If it’s even cold enough in Texas for a sweater! I know it’s not here in Phoenix!) I think they threw the word “Holiday” in the just so people will not show up looking like bums!

    • A pair of fab slacks-could be dark denims, trouser jeans,or a denim skirt. A nice holiday blouse with a sweater that you can remove in case you get warm.  Add a smart shoe or boot (heeled or flat), and maybe a small handbag. Comfy, Comfy!

    • Holiday casual would be a dress casual in my mind.  I would never go for the sweaters with a Turkey on them, or a pilgrim.. but I guess for fun.. you could put on a pilgrim hat and bring a muskat.

      Enjoy the Thanksgiving Brunch.

Im throwing a feast for up to 80 people each year, I think Ill have more this year because if Ike, so Im having four turkey’s instead of three and four hams instead of three.

Im just wearing a really cute leopard tunic, leggings and HOT patten Boots..

Its a thing in my family, my aunts are all sexy, and they always come in wearing leopard and the cousins and women always wear leopard.

Go Leopard.... it never goes out of style...

    • I actually think I know what I’m going to wear.

My challenge is with my youngest stepdaughter (19) who rarely puts any thought to what she’s wearing. And, she has a boyfriend arriving from Michigan who will be going with us so I needed to have her tell him to pack appropriately, too.

Basically what I told my stepd was we won’t be doing t-shirts, holey, frayed or faded blue jeans, sneakers with no socks or any tops that are too small for our frames. I approached it delicately while still getting my point across.

I also made clear that we would be doing hair and makeup, because that’s something else she can’t be bothered with.

Thanks for all the suggestions!!! :)

    • Yeah I’m with almostfive0..a nice pair of slack, cute sweater..(I hate christmas sweaters though)...and some kicking shoes...I tend to dress up (casual dress) for christmas because we always host it at home, so I figured the host should always look good...Hubby is the more laid back, jeans type, but that’s okay too..as long as I look spectacular!!!!...The same with thanksgiving...We are usually the hosts, so I try to look my best...minus those horrid Thanksgiving/turkey adorned sweaters..lol

    • I don’t do holiday sweaters either...I’m so hot natured!
Greeneyedlady-your outfit sounds interesting-loving the boots!
It was always like a freaking competition with my family. It was always who could dress better and who is keeping up with the jones...some of them are still like that to this day. It’s madness, I tell you, madness = -)

    • Okay, so we did brunch today and it was fabulous! I was surprised at the number of people who were dressed in jeans and tennis shoes, but our group looked spectacular.

And, because so many of you ladies said the shoes were key, I thought I’d share mine with you:
