Q & A

Why do a blog here when all you do is add a link to another blog?
I personally do not click on blog links as many times they are done this way for the person to get hits.
Also I do not click blog links unless I know the person well.
Why not just ad the whole blog here?
Ok, so two questions then .lol

FABULOUS question, MzT!!!  I don’t click on links in blogs either! When I’m on Fab I want to stay on Fab! estatic

My suggestion would be to copy and paste the blog the blogger is wanting read to their blog here. I’m sure it would get many more comments! estatic

    • When I have duplicate blogs I write it over on Blogger and then copy and paste it here. It’s not difficult to do.

Sometimes I put links to other things I find interesting but I do so within the context of a post.

I like staying over here, too. estatic

    • I’ve been guilty of this before...I didn’t expect everyone would follow the link, but I was too lazy to email it individually to the readers that followed me, now the link is in my signature, I just post less here due to the negative comments by anon. I am more conservative in my blogging efforts and post more regularly at my wordpress blog. I feel more comfortable doing all my bitching, moaning and whining there....and of course I do blog about other stuff as well. I still love coming here and reading other peoples blogsestatic

    • There is such a thing as clogging up the site you‘re on.  This I learned from a parents group.  The  more you type in the more space you take up on that site.  It can make it slower and simply function less efficiently.

Actually, I was told about the whole copy and paste thing there and they were really against it and  wanted “links only“.

I didn’t think anyone would be worried about it here though.

Sorry, MzTracy, I could not disagree with you more.  As the saying goes, if you don’t want to read it then you don’t have to.

    • Well this site is set up for blogging. It does not take up space and clog the site. Why it is set up the way it is.

Adding a link in the blog or in your signature is all you need. If anyone is interested they will click. I bet less people click on the blogs with only a link.

I also asked this as many have talked about it so I figured I’d ask for all that do not like it, like me.

I think why it bothers me so is the fact that a lot of time goes into fab40 and money for just these reasons, so we can blog. And then when someone just uses it to promote another blog only, it is wrong to the site.

And btw, I don’t read it, I move one. But, originally I went to read a blog and found only a link. Luckily now I know who just add links and I will not even look anymore. lol But as you can see from this blog, many wanted to know why as well. estatic

    • Um what? Rude? I was explaining my reasoning behind doing this blog.
I could have read your post as very rude, but decided to just explain my thoughts. Sorry, MzTracy, I could not disagree with you more. As the saying goes, if you don't want to read it then you don't have to.  Was explaining that I don't read them, sorry if you took that as rude. I guess what you said goes for this as well...if you don't want to read it then you don't have to.

MzV, i love it here as well, why I do not want to leave the site when I am surfing around in here. estatic

This was not meant to ‘step’ on toes, Geez... I have dealt with questions regarding people who do not want to hear about people’s heath etc. So, I move on and do not read. Part of why I moved my blogs elsewhere. ohhhh

    • I do not send mail to let others know I blog. I usually make it my status. When I know the person, I have np getting the email link of a blog HERE! lol

Again, i usually blog at my wordpress and then if I feel it is a good blog for here, I bring it over here as well. I first blog in Word so I do not lose them. Makes it easy to add anywhere I see fit. estatic

    • Nancy, I have re-read my blog and only a small part was answering your post. How u even take it to be rude is beyond me, In all actuality what you posted in response to my question was rude. But, I tried not to take it personally.

In the future, if you think someone is being rude you may want to contact them through pm. I was going to do so, but since you de-friended me, I had to write it here. I will say, I am sorry you took in the wrong light, it was not meant that way. Sadly we [all] sometimes read between the lines!

Sorry to anyone having to see this, but when someone calls me out, I will respond. Especially when I was not in the wrong. [this time] estatic

When i am wrong I will admit to it.

    • There is so much to read on this awesome site, that frankly I rarely get a chance to really look at everything and call me a dum-dum but I don’t really understand too much about linking blogs and such as I probably stick more to asking questions and replying to questions, but I love reading blogs when I get the time and peace to sit long enough at my computer...it makes me sad to see discord among friends here, so I am sending HUGS.happy

    • I don’t mind it.  If they ‘get me’ in their description,I’ll follow the link.  If not, I won’t bother.

Most times folks don’t make me want to follow the link - or they write something that is so obviously a sales gimmick that I ignore it.

I would tend to agree that for this website it would be more efficient to just use links.  But I also agree I am less likely to respond HERE if I have to go THERE to read it.

      Just call me wishy-washy!
