    • I know it’s tough when you‘re used to warmer weather and suddenly it’s cold. I moved from California and Hawaii to Washington State and spent 2 years never warming up - even in August.

Time to break out the sweaters, put on a pot of soup and know it’s going to come to an end soon. I find that just sipping on a hot beverage, even hot water with lemon helps.

    • I agree with Cynthia on the soup... there is nothing better that i nice big bowl of homemade soup when you are cold, add a warm blanket and your favorite DVD and you are set!
Good luck! my sister in law is down your way and she feels the same way.

The friend near Orlando told me how homesick she felt seeing the snow flurries. We all laughed about the iguanas falling out of the trees frozen alive. NYers are dealing with wind chill factors in the low single digits, so you folks in Florida really have no idea what “cold” really is. It may be 20s in the morning but I bet it goes up to 40 or higher before the day is through. We‘re stuck in the 20s and below freezing all day! It’ll be back up to where it should be in a couple of days, just be patient, Florida. We, on the other hand will be in the heavy coats until the end of March with a couple of freaky days of 40 & 50 degrees that we call ‘pneumonia weather.’

Get yourself a space heater, a barn coat from LL Bean with a removable flannel lining and some sweats. Mother Nature isn’t happy and we‘re going to feel it for some time.

    • I moved here from a tropical island as well but for me I welcome the cold here in Florida.  I donot like the humidity here.  If it is hot with some breeze I can deal with it but the humidity I cannot.  However, we all cannot have it the way we want it and for this we still give thanks.  For heating up a hot cup of tea works well, even some brandy will do the trick.

      Floridians this to shall pass.
