Q & A

In the winter (for those of us that have it) do you wear a stylish hat, coat and boots.  Or, do you say forget all that I need to keep warm.

    • Jackie, I try to combine the two; find something both stylish and warm.  It is a feat but can be done.  However, if all else fails, I opt for warmth.  It is oh so better in Chicago to be warm than cute, although I like cute too.

    • I need to be warm! It seems for me, being stylish also often forfeits comfort. After all, I’m just going from  home to car
from car to work. I try to be as stylish as I can in my blue jeans and sneakers, hehe.

    • It depends. If i am just going ot a football game or to the grocery store...running errands...etc. It is all about the warmth....fashion be damned...LOL
If i am going ot work or a social event, i will deal with the cold to look good!

    • In Denver, its not that Chicago cold, so I can get away with cute and warm. In the mountains you have to be warm and dry! Save cute for by the fireplace after activities.

I have to travel to NY in Dec for work, so I’m thinking warm will be my theme.

    • Loving the picture of Chicago. I’m only about an hour north of there! :)
I like to look stylish as well & here in Wisconsin, you better dress warm or you’ll be sorry!! lol
To mix those 2 components isn’t too difficult.
Leather boots (thick socks), Parka/Duster length (I love mine!) Sweaters, etc. I love scarves. I could probably live in Alaska & be very happy dressing warm all the time.
Now I’m on a hat mission. I saw a super cute black~ sort of wool, almost sort of “pillboxish” shape in the back of it with a little squarish visor (for lack of a better word) & a black flower towards the side of the front of it. Very hip... I want it! :)
      Warm AND cute! YAY!!

    • Beachbum - God bless you, but I wonder if you’ve ever experienced being cold? Warm always trumps style with me. But, like most of you, it can be both/and...cute and warm. (I don’t like hats though...hat hair) love headbands and ear muffs, leather coats and scarves.

    • It depends If I am going out with the girls for the day then its cute. Stylish jacket, cute non practical gloves, maybe a cute hat (though not a stocking cap)cute little boots. But when I go for a walk the dog, icefishing or snowblowing warmth from head to toe. I have a down coat that goes to my ankles, My boots are rated to 45 below zero, I have a wool stocking cap, a long thick and warm scarf, and of coarse my choppers.
