Does anyone have any cure for scalp problems...I have been plagued with a scalp condition for years and it is driving me nuts! It is almost like a baby’s cradle cap...a thin crust on the scalp that is not dandruff. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
It sounds like something my son had, and so we took him to the dermatologist. She recommended a therapeutic shampoo by Neutrogena (which you can by right off the shelf at your local drug store). It’s called T/Sal-it controls seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis and dandruff. Basically she recommended that we start with this shampoo first for 2 weeks and then alternate with Head and shoulders for 2 weeks. You will see results! Now that my sons scalp is fine he now uses a good quality moisture shampoo called,Root Awakening by John Frieda collection. Good luck!
Do you have psoriasis?
You MUST avoid
Dairy
Alcohol
Sugar
Coffee
Red Meats
Chicken
That will eliminate 80% of symptoms usually regardless of the nature of the symptoms.
I am not too sure what it is called...I always seem to forget the name of it...but I guess that is what it is...I have tried everything from olive oil to expensive shampoos and nothing seems to help...seems to be a bad case of it right now...I will have to look into that.
I have had psoriasis since 1986. Especially in the Winter it breaks out really bad on my scalp. For me what works is tea tree shampoo and leave it on while you shower then rinse. Paul Mitchell and Master Cuts are the best ones I have found. I also have a prescription lotion so you may want to see a dermatologist. Whatever you do don’t pick at it no matter how much it itches as it will damage your scalp.
My son just turned 7 and he just stopped having cradle cap last year!
The Neutrogena shampoo mentioned above works wonderfully for some people. There is another one called P&S that has worked miracles for my mom's husband. It is expensive but it is worth it. Check it out!
Seborrheic dermatitis! That’s what the doctor called it...I was in to see her the other day and she said to use the T-Gel Shampoo...so gonna try that...I have use Nizoral for the last few years and it just help any more...so maybe a change might to the trick...thanks for all the tips girls...
