What are a few things you don’t mind spending good money on while other item’s your frugal on?
I definately don’t skimp on perfume or riding gear. Frugal.....hmmmm, I’d have to say that I purchase most of my underwear on clearance at Dilliards or Macy’s. I can’t see spending $18.00 for a pair of underwear. When they are marked down to $6.00 that’s much better!
You know, I rarely skrimp when it comes to clothes because I’m an odd size. However, I buy my socks everywhere because I run through them quickly. I don’t look for bargains when it comes to food either. I don’t like buying sale items that are not the brands I am used to. If I want it and can afford it, I get it.
I can spend money on just about anything except flowers. I LOVE flowers, however, I shop at the whole sale flower mart and after seeing what flowers cost there I just can’t bring myself to pay 5 bucks for a rose.
Shoes and skincare. Cant skimp on those 2 things! Also, good hair products.
Food and health care products and skin/beauty/hair products are my main thing..will not run all over the place trying to save a buck..how I feel on the inside produces how I look on the outside, but I am frugal with paper products, cleaning supplies, lawn and garden supplies, will shop around for a better bargain...with clothes, it varies.
I don’t mind spending money on our kitties since they are indoors only to get them new toys and other things to keep them happy. I will also spend money on skincare and hair products.
Sometimes I will buy store brand food items as they are better than the big brand names.
I forgot about TP! Very true, one time I bought Scott paper and hubby had a fit! Never bought that again.
Kyah I’m with you on socks, I usually buy them at Target.
PS - Yana there is a place here in Houston called “flower row“, it’s open 24 hours a day. We used to go there at midnight and buy several huge bunches and bring em home and we would make arrangements out of them. I always tell hubby to not buy me flowers from the florist for for V-Day.
Shoes, clothing, skin care and supplements.
Undies, no way. Always on sale, always functional.

I will definitely spend on my health. Especially since I almost lost mine. My health is supper important to me. Everyting else, I like to shop for bargins.
I buy cheap t shirts, socks, underwear and some cleaning products. I don’t skimp on my skincare. I have tried lesser expensive things and always go back to either Clarins or, when I’m feeling a splurge coming on, Sisley. I’ve been known to spend $190 on a day cream. It was wonderful!
Cynthia, I would think that would be nice! I used to use Lancome a lot but but then switched to Clinique and when I went to get Botox (now that was a splurge!) my dermatologist recommended Nutrogena. Go figure huh? I’ve only splurged on Botox treatments twice and LOVED the results. I wished I could get it on a regular basis!
shoes-if my shoes hurt, I certainly don’t look good w/ my face screwed up in pain or limping!
Good Food and Good Health! The rest can be skimped on to support my ‘habit’ (good food and good health!!)
Angelcart, you made me LOL when I read about the Scott tissue and your husband. When I was taking care of my grandmother, she liked to use those super soft and absorbent brands like Northern and Charmin. I resorted to bringing my own tissue (usually Scott but never Marcal LOL) to the bathroom with me because I had an allergic reaction to her toilet paper.
I had a chance to think about this question. I will buy discount potting soil and rubbing alcohol from the 99 cent store.
I dont skimp on perfume (perfume snob here, yes I admit it),
food or skincare.

I will not scimp on skin and hair products or on shoes. Things I am frugal on.... cereal, cleaning products, paper products and Sssshhhhh don’t tell anyone but I just switched my hubz cell phone carrier from who employs him to Sprint.....savings per month $130!

Since I am a huge fan of organic & pure ingredients, I will not skimp on food, wellness products, skin care, cosmetics & haircare.
This may sound hysterical, but the other thing that I will not skimp on is high quality toilet paper. No joke! I prefer using toilet paper that is free of artificial colors, fragrances and it must be soft. After growing up in a home with 6 females, but only one bathroom, I guarantee that as an adult, I make sure that my home is completely stocked up with quality toilet paper so we never run out!
A good sweater...a great pair of shoes or boots. But, that’s why I really only have a few!

Skin care...I use honey...baking soda...a simply clean cheap wash of some sort and aloe and sunscreen. Cheap-ola and I don’t know it’s working for me!

I will not go cheap on skin products. I have very sensitive skin and so I try and do my best with products. I am a coupon queen so grocery shopping I look for the deals. Certain items though I avoid on sale like milk products.
I won’t scrimp on health care for myself and my animals. The rest... you all can call me, La Cheapa, and I won’t be offended. ;oD

I don’t mind spending good money on clothes, shoes, make-up products and hair.
I’m frugal on paper products and cleaning stuff sometimes, ya know, I don’t think I’m that frugal
I try to buy the best even toilet paper, Hubby won’t let me get anything less..lol hes gotta have good toilet paper.
I am Ms. Thrift; yard sales, junk stores, sales, coupons, etc. But I won’t skimp on bras, panties, perfume or skin care. My daughter, the hair stylist has converted me to some nice Paul Mitchell and Kenra hair products, but I used to be a Suave user.
I skimp on stuff like movies, never watch them, or cable tv..not available here and I won’t pay for satellite. Probably my biggest skimp is my house. I live in a 1969 double wide trailer. But it is paid for and it is a cozy home. Just don’t want to pay a mortgage or higher insurance or taxes.
I hear ya on the skimping, Kathryn! The X and I bought a piece of property and bought a
Karsten modular home (the best on the market) for it 12 plus years ago that is paid off. Now with the divorce I’m thinking of going the same way when I get the settlement to fi-
ance it. I got to pick and choose features like the recessed light panels in the kitchen, the
glass cupboard doors in kitchen, the floor plan, the master bathroom bathtub (it’s a fancy
“garden tub“) that increases its value, and even the appraiser was impressed with it. This
year I was able to insure it for more value than 12 years ago.
The best thing is it cost way less than having a home built or buying an existing house.

skin and makeup products, shoes, perfume, I do not skimp on, bras panties, clothes I buy on sell but do not skimp on. I was skimmping on food but trying to read nutrion and now food is more based on what is on sale and freshness
I also cut back on a lot of treatments, monthly facials, bi-monthly facial peels, monthly body treatments, undera rm waxing.... I am doing more at home the way that I use too.
