how do you tell your teenage kids you are getting divorced?

    • i don’t have any experience with this myself other than helping a good friend in this situation.  she and her ex sat down together with the kids to let them know.   and they mostly let the kids ask the questions, and answered each together and reassuringly.  

      i wish you good luck, this must be a difficult time for you. i will keep you in my prayers.

    • My kids are not teens yet, but I’m facing the same issues.  From what I’ve learned, make sure you tell them when you have all the details in order—like the new housing arrangements, the dates that things will happen, visitation schedules, etc.  The kids will want to know how THEIR lives will change. Please let me know how it goes.  I’m looking at telling the kids in May or June—not sure if it’s best to wait til school is out or not.
