    • I have hired a handy WOMAN to help with some outside stuff that I just wasn’t able to tackle.  I am going to hire her to come back and do some stuff for me that my husband has been telling me is ‘on the list’ for 4 years!

I’ve asked him time and again and was clear that this was the next step.  Now it is time for action.

    • Hire a handy man (a woman if I could find one). I’m not very handy at all and my husband is, but too busy with work.

    • My dad does it or I can depending on time constraints - but actually I’m very handy with a drill , saw , hammer etc; my dad was a builder and showed me how to do stuff growing up

    • My husband runs a school and we live in school housing so I call the maintenance staff when I need something done. My house is pretty old so a lot of things are wearing out.

    • Most jobs we do ourselves, just fixed the frozen pipe leak under the kitchen sink the other day and the “running” toilet.  My husband is very handy around the house, unless it’s A/C or Heating, then we call someone.  Planning on completely gutting our Master Bathroom and re-tiling, installing etc. ourselves.  I’ll let you know how that goes, hopefully w/o too many dirty words!

    • I don’t mind doing the minor jobs as I like to do them. We used to have a construction business and I worked with the guys at times so I’m pretty handy around the house. The major jobs the hubby and I do together. happy

    • It also depends on the job for me. If I can do it I will, but otherwise I will hire someone to help.

    • I do it all myself.  First hubby wouldn’t do handyman jobs, and the second one can’t so I’ve learned to do pretty much everything myself.  I’m not real good at plumbing, but I can do the basics there.

On my list for this summer is replacing the back door and the living room window.

    • I use to tell my husband “This needs to be done” when you have the time between golf games. Then one day I woke up and thought to myself why should I have to wait for him! So I picked up the tool (I can’t remember what my first project was) and did it. We have gutted three houses and if there was anything I didn’t like I would redo it.
Two years ago for Christmas I asked for my own tool box with everything in it because another one of my dear so to be ex did was he would take a tool and not put it back in the same place, so I couldn’t find a tool again so I asked for my own tools. Since then I have gone threw two drills and added many other tools to my two tiered box.
It’s fun to do something that you have never tried before and actually get it right the first time out. As I pat myself on the back! Good Job Denise “Who needs a man to get things done anyways!!!!

    • I mostly do them myself happy

Actually just finished painting my bedroom and in the process of building a closet in an alcove.  No, he is of no help!

Painting the bathroom next.  For the past year, our bathroom doorknob has been off the door!!  “HE” got locked in (LMAO) and I had to break him out!

HOWEVER, I always make the mistake of expecting him to fix it.  A year later (and much held onto resentment)tongue out... I am going to be tackling it myself very soon.

For the last couple of years I’ve bought him tools for Christmas... NOT... they are really for me.
