    • I do and I always have I am not sure why he is perfectly capable of making his own appoitments but I started all of those years ago doing for him and now as I was making a doctor’s appt for him today I thought, “good Lord what am I doing, he will be helpless if God forbid I died, he won’t even know how to make an appt himself.”  What an awakening moment, I am gonna have to break him in gently so that he can begin to do make his own appt.  I don’t know I am just as busy as he is so he thinks because I work from home I have all of this time on my hands and can just drop what I am doing and make appts?  Chime in ladies and let me know what you do and think:)  Have a fab day!

    • Yes I do, for some reason hubby doesn’t like talking on the phone unless It’s his brother. Other then that, I make all his appointments, I am the one who calls people to come and fix things at the house. I don’t get It, He will talk to just about anybody when we are out and about and have conversations with strangers, yet he won’t call and make his own appt’s..etc... oh well, I just think of It as, he drives me to where I need to get to when It rains or It’s too far to take the bus, so I do this for him. I guess thats a good enough reason.happy

    • Not just no, but HELL NO!!!  I’m not his mommy and I’m not his secretary and I don’t have any idea when he’s got time to go to the dentist or whatever.

Honestly, I’m having trouble wrapping my mind around the fact that you ladies do this for your husbands.  Would he do the same for you????

    • LOL Tuliplady you are right and I can’t honestly tell you why I even started doing it for him...maybe I was young newly married and didn’t know better but today out of no where I woke up for the first time in 17 years....he will be doing it himself because he needs to!!  And no he wouldn’t do it for me unless I was helpless..

    • Would he call for me and make appt’s? Probably not unless It was serious and I was really Ill, then yes I believe he would. He’s there when I need to go to the emergency room or when I really don’t feel right and I need to go to the doctor’s at the last minute, all I have to do is call him and he tells his boss that he needs to go home cause his wife needs him. Thats happened a few times.

    • Stacey, love your signature line! estatic

And I’m not quite as mean as I sound.  If hubby was desperately ill or something, I’d certainly make his calls, but otherwise, he doesn’t hate talking on the phone any worse than I do.

    • Funny!  Yesterday we joined a gym.  Before our two free sessions with our physical trainers, we need to fill out some forms.  I did mine when I got home.  He took a nap!!!

Honestly, I started to fill his out and stopped.  He needs to participate in his life just as I do mine.

Since he has his own business, his schedule can be, let’s say, flexible.  His dentist has gotten very angry at him for not showing up for appointments that he sets up.

When calling for him to set up a Dr’s appointment or even an estimate for a job, it’s very frustrating for me because he’s the one that needs to know when he’s available - not me!

I struggle with this issue very much.

I totally agree with tulip, I’m not his mother and actually resent his irresponsible behaviors.

    • I hesitate, but yes... because I want him to take care of his health.  men often times feel like they are invincible and don’t keep up on important stuff...  checking moles, peeing changes etc. but don’t you dare call me a mom!  ;)
