Q & A

I decided to stop putting my regular colour in my hair and noticed that my greys are looking like blond highlights in my very light brown hair. I have always been using bright red lip colour to bring out my face as my eves are hazel green. What other lip colour and makeup can I use to look natural but not pale? Any ideas?

    • I think you should try some neutrals like peaches, corals, and even some pinks. I wear all of these colors and they look great on me I was a red lipstick wearer too, but once I started wearing the neutrals I hate myself in reds now they look too loud. Oh and try some golds too in a lip gloss.

    • Definitely with you Neicy!   A little neutral, lighter cocoa’s w/gold undertones.  I don’t think you need blue undertones, which is what reds have.

You can get a creme color pencil in a darker neutral, cocoa’s (with a hint of coral/pink) and use that for the outter lips.  Then fill in the inner lips with a lighter version of those colours!

      you’ll look marvelous!estatic

    • I agree with Cristina.  It sounds like you would have some good results with a red with more brown in it like a merlot type color or even a golden brown.  I use a lot of those colors depending on the time of year.  For spring summer go with lighter colors like pink with a little more burgundy.  Why do they use wine varieties for makeup too?  LOL

    • If you lighten up your lip color, you can bold up your eyes!  Bold eyes and bold lip is too much but choose one and run with it!  By mellowing your lip color, you can now put some bang in those hazel eyes without looking like your trying too hard!

We’d love to see pics of your “new face“.

    • Lighter lips and bolder eye colors, as Daphne mentioned, are the rage..but you can play up your lip color with a deep coral and a clear gloss and a more neutral eye color.estatic

    • Try a pumpkin color on your lips.  A deep goldeny color.  And for your eyes, try a highlighter of a matte tan, a darker shade in the crease and line along your upper and lower lashes with a green.  Maybe forest green to show off those eyes!  Matte colors on the eyes look better on women of our vintage than shimmers or frosts. Have some fun with it!

    • I wish I knew how to apply the eye makup though. I am not very good with that. I just line them. I use to line them all the way but now I only go midway with the top ones.heartheartheart
