    • I always overpack but am going to force myself to pack light on our next trip.  It’s 10 days on the bike headed to the Grand Canyon.  You can only carry so much on a bike but somehow I’ve always managed to take too much.

    • All the time! You never know what the weather will be like or what your plans may be on some days. I could never travel on a bike. I would have to have my luggage shipped to where I was going.

    • Your right about the weather.  That’s what makes it so hard to pack when you take a trip on a bike.

Vicki you’d die!  I can only take my riding boots and a pair of sandals to wear at night.tongue out

    • Definitely and of course you have to have more than one pair of shoes,no matter what!  I usually have to have 2 just like Therma and Vicki!  It’s so funny because you have to have choices, right?  2 outfits each day, then the shoes, then the jewelry.

Angela, if you are going to be riding all day, you probably won’t want much to carry but that would be a tough one for me.  My face cleanser, shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, makeup (just a little), ugh!  That would be a real tough one.

You are going to have so much fun though Angela.  Are you going with a group of people?  It sounds like it will be a blast.  Where do you stay?  Have a wonderful time and keep us posted!

    • Term - I never thought that in my 40’s I’d be traveling cross country on a bike!  I’ve got pretty used to it as we’ve been to the Grand Canyon twice already, The Tail of The Dragon in TN several times, Washington DC,Myrtle Beach, Richmond, VA and numerous trips to the Hill Country.  There’s lot’s of other places too, New Orleans, etc.

Maryann - I do pack my shampoo, conditioner, detangler, face cream, etc.  We definately take/wear sunscreen!  Here’s the funny part, most of the time we don’t make reservations and we’ve always ended up at really cool places.  But this trip when we get to Kanab UT we will be staying at The Parry Lodge which is awesome.  They built the hotel years ago to put up actors where they filmed ton’s of western movies.happy

    • Yes I do! I just recently wrote a blog about this too. Last week we went to Key West on a business trip for my husband and of course...I overpacked. It worked out nicely this time because we were delayed returning to Nashville when our flights were cancelled due to the flooding. I was thankful to have the additional clean clothes!

    • Yes yes yes!   I am an over packer.   You never know what your mood will be.  Try as I may to lighten my load it is really hard.   The fees the airlines are charging for overweight luggage is an incentive to pack lighter.

    • Nope, not at all.  I like to travel really light, and only use the kind of small suitcase on wheels that qualifies as hand luggage and doesn’t have to be checked in on a flight.  I can manage with this small bag for a 10 day trip!  It’s amazing how much you can actually get in those.  It makes travelling a lot easier for me.  I used to overpack, but after one stressful trip decided enough was enough.
