    • No. Healthcare in Hawaii is poor and doctors are in short supply. I was tired of paying for inadequate care so I just more or less gave up.

    • Vikki - Absolutely. I believe in preventive medicine. That is why we have healthcare.

Maybe you can ask your friends who their physicians are and change? I would not stay with a doctor I do not like. I ask way too many questions and need the answers in ENGLISH!

I suggest you ask around and find a doctor you can relate to. Your health is too important.

    • No.  I moved to Texas 8 months ago and I have a primary care, but I have to find a gyno.  My problem is I prefer a woman and they are not always easy to find.

    • Teeky is there anything available in your state like Medicare or something that would not be too expensive?

    • Check out public health, women’s health or your local Hospital. Sometimes the service we need is available, but we have to ask the right questions. Unfortunately people don’t volunteer the pertinent information because they have alterior motives.

I had my mammogram done at the local hospital in a particular wing they had all the latest equipment.

    • I am current.  I schedule my gyno exams a year in advance, after the doctor examines me, I walk out of the examination room, go the window to pay my co-ins and her assistance sets me up for my next exam.  They also set up my mammo before I leave.  My doctor and her nurses/assistances are truly wonderful.

Raysa, I know what you mean, I prefer a woman also

I agree with Vikki, mammos are not so bad

Medicare would probably be not a good avenue for Teeky to explore, she is too young, unless of course, there is a disability or ESRD and she looks pretty healthy
