Need color tips on what color to paint my living room area....
Hi Maryann my living room set is is half white and my tv entertainment center is the same as the living room set, and coffee table mahogany brown
Camille, how do you want to feel when you walking into the room?
Warm and cozy, relaxing, or contemporary, traditional. Is you kitchen or other rooms near by? Do you want them to blend or pop?
You said that you have dark wood as a coffee table what colors are your couch and other items in that room?
I would say go buy some sample cans of paint, no more than four, from your hardware store and put them on a wall where it gets the most sun. Leave it on for a few days and see what color strike you the best.
Until next time...![]()

I love my light brown walls (indian)
when its hot out it feels like a cooling color and when its cold out it is a warm color.
I also like the way it makes my pictures pop!!
hi Denise i think i would want cozy, i live in an apartment my living room is join with dining area and kitchen one big area, the kitchen is semi blocked off.....![]()
Hi Camille...
Do you have a lot of light in that room? If it’s small...you don’t want real dark. Keep it light....mine is a very very light shade of green...which flows into the kitchen...which is a darker shade of the green. If the rooms are connected or open up to each other...you want to stay in the same scheme...you want the rooms to flow.
Look at your furniture...your accessories....what goes with them? I also like an Italian yellow....not very bright, but has more gold in it.
Do you want to change the dinning-room and the kitchen or just paint the living room?
What colors are in those two rooms?

Yes Denise i want to do both the kitchen and the living and dinning as they are all next to each other, they are all off white and the wall that separates the kitchen from the living and dinning, that wall is mint green.......
I would suggest a warm taupe or maybe a warm yellow. Then take your accent wall and do it in a rust or if your brave take that accent wall and faux it with a metallic paint to pop it.
Without looking at the room and what you have in it, it’s hard to figure out a color.
All I can say is play with it, you can always paint over it if you don’t like it.
Best of Luck
