    • I’ve gotten to the point that I have to go in for a hair color every 4 weeks but it’s growing in really fast. I think that I’ll eventually have to just let the gray come in.

    • I started coloring when I was 35 and at almost 43 I don’t plan on stopping. right now I am going every 4 weeks but it looks like I may need to go more often. I work in an industry that needs me to stay young looking for now.

I do have the occasional strays that refuse to be tamed, usually on the sides and I’ll see them out of the corner of my eyes...I just look at the gray as free highlights.

    • I just colored my hair about a month ago only because I was sick of many years of highlighting and that was the only way to get rid of them. I went back to my natural color. I had a little bit of gray around my face and a few here and there. I touch up around my face every 3 weeks and I can do that myself and my roots every 8 weeks and that my hairstylist does. It’s not so bad, so I’ll keep doing it for a while. I can’t put an age on it just yet.happy

    • I stopped coloring my hair about two months ago just to see what my natural color is ohhhh.  My daughter wants me to hurry up and color it.  I’m sure I will one of these days.  Don’t know when I’ll stop coloring for good- probably sometime in my 60s.

    • I started coloring my hair about two years ago.  In my family we don’t really go gray, we just fade away as hair color goes and mine is fading.  When it turns white (which it will), I’ll stop coloring.

My grandma colored her hair until the day she died at 80 something.  She tried to tell me one time that she wasn’t gray underneath that Miss Clairol red.  LOL!!!  I realize now that truly she wasn’t gray, she must have been snow white just like her sister.

    • Its funny because im naturally blonde but since i was around 19 i started getting highlights to brighten up the blonde, but when i turned 40 i decided to go dark brown and loved it for the past year but over the past year ive noticed the top of my head getting the little grays popping up (or maybe they were already there but as a blonde i just didnt noticed them) anyway, next month im going back to blonde because i miss being blonde and i do not like gray at all.
Maybe one day ill go completly gray it depends on how i feel about it when im much MUCH older (LOL)
I enjoy going to the salon and having my hightlights done every 10 weeks its one small indulgence i give myself

    • At this point, there’s no turning back, I will probably always dye my hair.  My roots grow back quickly too and I was going every 4 weeks.  I found a great hair mascara and can get by with 5 weeks now.

    • Cynthia if you have them do subtle highlights thru out with the base being as close to your natural color then you shouldn’t have to go every 4 weeks. More like every 6 weeks. If the color is fading vs new growth than you need to change your shampoo to a sulfate free shampoo. And you can also use a shampoo with a color base to it. Artec (loreal) has a wide range of color shampoos.
If it’s a new growth problem..... well that’s good...it means your eating good and feeding your blood that feeds your hair! It also means your nails should be growing fast too.

      But to answer your question.....

When they nail the coffin shut is when I will stop with the color!

    • I’m like that Vikki, the new growth versus fading...I switch around during each season...late fall and winter I go back to my natural color of dark brown with reddish tint, then come spring I switch to a shade lighter with a few low-lights and come summer then even a bit lighter with some high-lights...and I am not happy with my hairstyle right now, too long for me so going back to the angled bob and maybe putting in a a combo of blonde/caramel high-lights.happy
