    • I think I might have fibroids because I get super heavy periods and have for about the last 8 years.  I’m not doing anything except praying that my periods end soon.  My doctor has never taken me seriously about it.  I hope you get the treatment you need.

    • I also suffered with fibroids.  I used the natural progesterone cream for about 12 yrs and it did help a great deal.  However, my periods did continue to get heavier and more frequent (every 12-14 days) and the pain was constant.  When I was no longer able to control the pain with OTC pain meds (aspirin-not the best choice when bleeding is involved, acetominophen and ibuprophen, I was done with it.  My gyno was aware of the situation and he agreed that if the bleeding and pain could no longer be controlled,it was time for a hysterectomy.   Best decision I ever made.  That was 3 yrs, ago and I feel so much better!  It took about a year to heal and recuperate from all the blood loss and surgery, but the best day of my life was the day my uterus went to the landfill.

Are you seeing a GP or a gynecologist?  A gyno will be the best equipped to care for you.  If your doctor is not responsive to your situation, dump his ass and find another.  You are paying for the service and can certainly expect quality care and concern from him/her.  And do, keep us posted!  Take care

    • I had fibroids for years and had painful and heavy periods.  They tried everything to get them to shrink, including the natural progesterone cream.  Finally they did a hysterectomy 7 years ago.  What a relief!

You are right Miss USO, get a good GYN and let them know what you are dealing with and ask for solutions.  You shouldn’t have to continue to be in pain or deal with the issues that go along with fibroids.

    • I had one the size of a thumbnail and it caused me more grief than I ever care to experience again. I wasnt comfortable with the option of a hyst @ the time so I opted for ablasion surgery. Since then, [knocking on wood], I’ve been OK and my periods are very light if I get one at all.

    • Been to the GYN and I do have fibroids but they also had to do a biopsy  to check the endometrial lining.  Also have a cyst so I will need to repeat the ultrasound in 6 to 10 weeks.  Will get the results sometime this week and to see how we proceed.
