Your invited to a wedding that the reception has no bar but you can bring your own. Do you? And is this cheap to you?
this was something that I was asked even though I’d never heard of this. I’d have to agree with Kyah. But it’s their wedding and there is no right or wrong for it’s their day but I was interested to see what people thought
I’m with Mz. T
"As you open the door to new relationships and remove the chain from your own fears, God will overwhelm you with new splendor."
Wouldnt bother me, since I dont drink... Its whatever the bride and groom want/can afford.
I think that they were thinking of there friends
Money is tight for everyone these days and perhaps they did not want to add to the burden (gifts, new clothes, hair, etc) I think its a nice change.
I was invited to a wedding where the reception was held in a restaurant and you ordered and paid for your own meal. I thought this was strange but a grand Idea!!!

That is the way weddings are done around here. It’s not cheap, it’s just the way it’s done.

Why not buy some nice champagne so you can toast the bride and groom with them - I would say the economy is forcing people to do this
No, I don’t see it as being cheap. It means drinking is our option and we can bring it or celebrate without it. A lot of wedding receptions eliminate the bar so family and friends can safely drive home, and I think that’s loving.

There are a lot of weddings that are cash bar, right now money is tight all around us. Maybe the hall where the reception is held does not have a bar, and as an alternative they are saying if you drink BYOB. I don’t think badly of it, this could be a good thing also if they intend to have younger people at the wedding, they have no responsiblity for them drinking.
I don’t see it as cheap at all. Alcohol is not cheap! With my family, I would be scared to have any kind of alcohol. You would more than likely see us on those funniest videos making ass’s of ourselves. lol

That’s the way most Mexican weddings I’ve been too have always been....they do provide a few cases of beer, some bottles, but BYOB is encouraged.
