I’ve heard we have to work out harder and longer to maintain our fitness as we age. Do you think this is true?
Well one thing is for sure, the exercises you did when you were in your teens and twenties will not work in your 40’s and 50’s. You’ll have to change it up, weight training one day, Zumba another day, yoga or Tai Ch‘i another, bike riding or power walking another. Something is better than nothing but you’ll have to ‘want’ to keep yourself fit.
I used to. NOT ANYMORE. I still workout just don’t have to kill myself to see results like before when I worked out so hard yet could not get the lbs and inches off. ![]()
I have been blessed with I don’t know what but I get exercise from my work. I do a lot of hard labor. However, I can eat just about anything I want and it does not stick on me.
Horse pucky.. I don’t believe that is true, healthy diet and exercise will do. Eliminate those aging things like sugar, enriched white flour, white rice and carbonated soda. Go wheat, grains, high fiber, fresh vegetables and fruit. We are what we eat, good things in, good things out that is what Life is all about
For me as I age, I find I absolutely cannot skip a day of exercise. But I’m also finding that a walk or a little yoga is all I need. Gentler, as I get older.
I think it is true. But I eat a lot healthier now, very little sugar and no gluten or soy, so I feel better.
I definitely think changing things up helps. I do several different exercises through the week to make things interesting. I have had to do this to get back in shape once I finally got a knee that works.
I don’t know if it’s true. What I do know is it takes me longer now to get back in shape so I have to be regular with the exercises. It seems the simple yoga helps a whole lot.
