Q & A

Okay, I just finished a trip which I won’t call a vacation to see family.  I traveled 18 hours in a car in one day with hubby, 3 kids, 3 dogs, and a hamster. Which we did both ways to and from. We did survive, and it went well.  What are your trip travels like and how did everyone survive. Thank you TV in vans.

    • Hi Jimmie,

Wow - what a trip! Glad it went smoothly.

I just moved from Texas to New Hampshire (now I’m a New Hampster), and it went smoothly but OMGosh do I not want to do that again!!! Getting the bird and cat here was complicated and my cat got sick from the stress. But we did it, and we‘re all in one piece, and I’m grateful, and my cat got some pills from a very nice local vet, so I guess what I need to remember is: Breathe and just take the next right step, and eventually I will get there.

    • Fortunately my kids are used to traveling for long periods in car and airplane I guess I can say dog too because he lived overseas with us.  But, the long car rides are murder on my legs.  Usually traveling is required on us to see family and we have to do long trips usually at least 2 times per year.  We move alot and that means the whole crew loads up in the car.  Last year we moved from virginia to Texas.

    • the last trip I took with the dogs and kids I ended up having the dogs use the bathroom in the van, one of the girls getting sick in the van and throwing up.  I wont take the dog with me unless I have to anymore.  And the last trip with the girls was okay going but coming back it was like driving with two rabbid wolverins fighting the whole way back.  I think I will tranquize them for the next trip.  They are use to the drive but they were tired and cranky on the way back.

    • Eighteen hours in the car with hubby and kids??? Whoa!  There’d be murder and mayhem in our household.  That would NOT be a good trip.

Last really long car trip I took was me, my mom, my aunt and my 10 yr old daughter.  By the time we got half way home, my aunt was calling my daughter “snot face” and not always in a loving joking way! and I was ready to strangle mother with her own road maps.

LOL!  MOTP, just read your comment about rabbid wolverines, that describes my daughters to a T!!!!
