    • I’m big on the “iny miny miney moe” decision maker...LOL I do it all the time. I always go with “and it will be you” it just helps me to make quicker decisions without driving myself nuts trying to decide. I am so bad with decisions, this never fails me..heart

    • I would look at other homes surrounding yours, as homes values gain and lose in reflection of one another: Chose a color that fits.  Your home will look good where it is, and other homes will looks good near yours.  Your neighbors will appreciate it too!

    • worriedworried no brown sorry. The houses are mostly brown and that just won’t do.sorry ladies but I disagree with the lets all blend together act not that I want a purple or pink house. I guess I was looking more for how you picked your colors and accents (personally ) not pick whatever everyone else has. maybe I asked the question wrong.

    • I chose a nice green, I didn’t want brown either. It’s a Karsten home and the color choices were limited to brown, tan, yellow, white, grey and green. I actually would choose a color that goes well with the style of the home. Does that help?

    • I’m with you Cathie - I just like green.  However, my house is currently yellow and brick red as that is the color it was when we bought it 5 years ago.  It is not in need of a new paint job yet so the green will have to wait.

I just go with how I ‘feel’ about it really!!

    • I don’t blame you for not wanting brown.  snore!!!!
When I moved into my house it was taupe with white trim.  Ugly and BORING.  I couldn’t afford to paint the house so I just painted the trim.  Painted all the trim a gorgeous forest greem and it made the house look so much better.  Then I had neighbors move in a double wide and they went with tan with forest green trim.  So...... I couldn’t stand to have them copying me, so I went to a plum purple trim and I love, love, LOVE it.  Sometimes it just takes a couple tries to get the look you‘re going for.  I certainly don’t want to blend in with the neighbors, I want my house to look like it is MINE.

    • When my and hubby got bought this house it was a dull gray (no offense to those that like gray).. 2 yrs ago we decide to paint the house and we too drove around the neighbor looking at the house and I came to a decision (which by the way, hubby left it up to me).. I picked a maroon for the house and a soft beige for the trimming.. I got lots of compliments and it came out really nice.. Loving it!! And before we painted the house we got a bay window put in.. So I’m really happy the way it came out..

    • Oh wow, Tuliplady, I can so see the deep plum trim with the taupe! That sounds so pretty.
6 years ago I had the eaves of the house painted cobalt blue, and window trim a burgundy, and with the green it looked (the whole house needs painting now) real pretty.

I don’t know if I’ll go with the same colors for the eaves & window trim when I get it painted. I do still really like the combo, but it is a chance to go something new. ;oD
