Q & A

What do you think of Oprah stating she is embarrased that she weighs 200 lbs? She was 237 at one point and though she was down to 160, she has overall maintained a 37 lb weight loss. What are your thoughts?

Some people are just not meant to be the size that is most acceptable to the public these days.
If she’s embarrased, it’s probably because she has went up and down so many times.
She should just focus on being healthy and not worry about what others think.
I think her size is beautiful.

    • Not sure, really. Just seems as though she’s going through some changes on how she views things I suppose. It’s contradictary to the ACAI commercials I see with her on them everywhere though...

I saw Gail discussing the weight gain thing for her yesterday on the GMA news... Said O is focusing more on health than being thinner as well as contending with a thyroid issue.

    • God Bless, Oprah! She’s human just as the rest of us! She’s still on top....but all the money in the world cannot save her from herself! Everyone has their own personal struggle with something and once you get that “wake up call“...it’s time for change.

She admitted to her embarrassment now she has to forgive herself and move on to becoming healthier.

    • That is great she is focusing on her health vs being thinner. That is exactly what her focus should be. But Oprah is beautiful and I don’t think she should feel embarrased.

She dresses well, and hair and make up is always on point thanks to her stylist. So I just don’t feel she should be embarrassed.

    • Well..i think she is an incredible human being. Even though she is still overweight, she has the heart of a 19 year old they say. She still exercises every day and eats healthy for the most part. Obviously she is overeating somewhere along the line. As long as she is happy and looks as happy and great as she does...she glows! She has done so much good for so many people...God Bless her!

    • It’s certainly inspirational to me since I too have fallen off the wagon a time or 2. It’s nice to know that even with all the money and help in the world she is after all just a woman like the rest of us. No special powers! Other than her power to touch us all.
Because Oprah speaks out it brings recognition to the issues.

    • i think she needs to just love herself the way she is.. sometimes people in the spotlight tend to make themselfs above standards, and the ” fail “.

Oprah is a BEAUTIFUL woman inside and out, and has given so much to others.. hopefully she can love herself, and just get healthy..

    • Vintage, I applaud her also for her weight management. I think her size right now fits her well....as I say “she wears it well“.
More than anything, I admire her for embracing who she is and the focus she has on being healthy.
Being a big boned lady myself....I don’t look healthy if I get down below 160 lbs. I look really sick. It looks like my skin is just hanging on a bag of bones.
It has taken me many years to love, me, big bones and all. I’m happy with the size I am now. I walk, do excercise, eat healthy, try to stay as healthy as I can.
I tell everyone, that one day I’m going to open a clothing line/store and call it Big & Beautiful, with clothing that women can afford.
Back to Oprah, she gorgeous just as she is. I would wish for her not to ever be embarrassed about her weight as long as she’s not unhealthy.
      Embrace beautiful ladies Embrace

    • Teeky, I love me just like I am and it took me a very long time to feel this way.
My main issue now is...the front boobs-back boobs....back butt-front butt syndrome. And you would think I was a real angel with these wings that are trying to form on my arms. It gets harder as you get older to get these evil things in their place. LOL
What is this Best Answer thing? Is it new?

    • Finally, she is talking about something she has actually experienced!!! I use to be an Oprah fan until she began to toot her own horn at every opportunity and started acting like a counselor on her show. She gives advice on issues she knows nothing about: like marriage, and children. It’s like she gets her self worth from her money and that is heartbreaking. A real philanthropist doesn’t have to tell everyone who their donating too and how much. I have really felt sorry for her this last year. To have so much money and by the worlds standards be so successful and yet constantly “searching” for meaning proves that money can’t buy you happiness. She promotes “The Secret“, then has her “New Earth” classes online. I feel sad that she hasn’t found real happiness and continues to test drive every new fad that comes along hoping to find “IT“.  I will be praying that she takes the time to take care of herself and follow her own advice. They say you can’t judge a book by it’s cover but watching her weight go up this last year has shown that it’s time for her to face her demons and kick them to the curb once and for all. It’s not about the weight it’s about how it’s weighing her down!!!!
