    • Annie, I think that happens on every flight.  I’ve seen it every time I’ve ever flown.  For some reason, folks rush to get their belongings in an attempt to be the first ones off the plane.  (Personally, I don’t get it.)

I’ve worked my whole life in a service industry of some sort.  Imho, there are certain personality traits required to work with the public.  Basically, you just can’t take anything personally, and have to stand firm in your self-confidence that you are doing a good job, knowing there will always be someone who criticizes you no matter what.  Some folks tend to internalize most anything said to them, so they are not good in such occupations.  Not saying that was this guy, but obviously, he let the passenger get to him when he shouldn’t have.

I think this bozo should have left his job along time ago if he was this unhappy.  His behavior is completely unacceptable.  Hero??  For heaven sakes, NO!!

His next job?  Hope he likes peeling potatoes...  estatic

The papers are saying he was stressed out also from his Dad’s death and caring for his Mom who is also now sick. I know it is not a good excuse, but I know I have had days where I would love to do just as he did

    • Definately not a hero but I have to admit it kinda made me laugh at how he lost it.  I know several flight attendants and here them complain about how passengers treat them and expect to be waited on the entire flight yet I’ve been on the other side when I’m on a 7 hour flight and THEY are rude to you.  It go’s both way’s.  Remember last year when Victoria Iloff (Victoria Osteen, Joel Osteen’s wife) was kicked off a plane by a flight attendant while they were headed off on a skii vacation?  Flight Att. claimed Victoria hit her which I totally do not believe (Victoria and I went to high school together).  I believe the flight attn. was just looking for a quick buck because she took her to court and claimed “mental anguish, etc.“.  Puhhllleeezz!

    • HERO NO! but it isn’t that hard to believe in todays world that someone who works with the public can snap..however the rest of the plane was made to hear it and that wasn’t fair to them, and yes the passenger should have been held accountable for hitting him..where does he get off?

    • Definitely not a hero.  I agree with all of you.  This may be a little off the subject, but I’ve been mistreated by security.  Not knowing that I approached the first class line, he trashed me by saying “this line is not yours” and shooed me away.  I must have looked like a poor person and don’t deserve respect.  Well, my daughter and I were ticked off.

    • No. And I agree about the drama part. If he hated his job so much he should have left before things got to this point. There are a lot of people out of work right now who would probably love to have that job.

    • I agree with Terma. I work with public and have felt that way. I have walked out of my office for a few moments. you can have the personalty to work with the public but when you are treated like sh** on a regular basis one day you may just  snap

Not saying its ok to be mean back but look at others who have snapped and killed co workers or customers...

At least the guy just did what he did, he should pay the money back of course...

    • Hero? NO WAY!
I agree with all of the above. If he wasn’t happy at his job then leave, But don’t add all the drama with it. I have days where I would love to tell a few customers off and what I think of them. But It’s my job and I bite my tongue and just walk away. What he did was just rude!

Like Ellen said, he should have notified the Captain and let him take care of the situation.

I read somewhere that they were comparing this guy to Sully? WTF! He is no way near being a hero like Sully was, thats a totally differant story. Whats wrong with people.

      Ok, I’m donehappy

    • I saw on a celeb show that this guy is considered a hero and the next american idol - he has a fan club of 130+ people.  Movie deals are in the works.

I freaked out when I heard that.  I don’t get it!
