Q & A

If you still have kids at home; are you prepared for school to start? I have to once again think about what to pack in my son’s lunch. Any ideas?

    • We are getting ready, completing the summer reading projects and purchasing supplies.  We still have another full week to prepare.

As for lunches, my children are fortunate to have access to a cafeteria that serves warm food and a variety of choices.  All I have to do is bank some money into their accounts, and lunch will be served to them.  I can go online and see the menus and the history of their purchases to know if they are making good choices.  Sure makes it easy.

    • The usual, yougurt, fruit, almonds, top-Ramen, Ritz crackers with peanutbutter on them, cheese stick, trail mix, fig newtons, popcorn, applesauce, and a sandwich!

    • Tamra you sure have it good. The high school serves lunch, but my son doesn’t like anything they serve, except pizza.
He is too cool to bring lunch, so most days he doesn’t eat until he gets home. Even if I send food in his backpack, he doesn’t eat it. Maybe that will change this year seeing as he has been eating everything in sight over the summer.

    • My high schooler will be able to come home for lunch and my 8th grader will have access to cafeteria food. I don’t think they would do well with packed lunches.
