    • Yes I am!  It first starts with the parents!  Parents today are feeding their children whatever because of income, convenience, or because they are too lazy to actually prepare good meals.

Then our schools need to do a better job of feeding our children while in school.  The breakfast and lunches that are prepared now are horrible and very bad for their health.  Of course to make these changes it takes MONEY.

I really liked watching that guy that was on television earlier this year who was trying to change what kids eat at school.  He is on the right track.

I can’t stand it when I see an adult give a baby....a sucker or something like that.  You are introducing that child to all this bad stuff and then they crave it.

Health officials are already saying that the generation that is being born now will not live a long life due to what they eat and how much they eat.

    • Absolutely. I don’t think people really know the extend of just how much our foods are nutritionally depleted and what impact it is having on health. Children are our future and it’s sad (as Mary said) that they will not live long lives & if they do, it will be with illness & disease. And who wants to live like that? I am a firm believer that lack of nutrition has a huge impact not just in our bodies but our brains as well (lack of minerals, vitamins, etc.). For example, the nutritional value of one cup of spinach does not give us the necessary nutrients now a day’s as it did back in the 60’s, and the recommended fruits and veggies keeps going up...it has to do with the pesticides, fertilizers, etc that are destroying the nutritonal value. And let’s not forget foods loaded with preservatives, additives, etc, etc. And the meats we consume are loaded with antibiotics and hormones. All this has a huge impact on our health. It’s one of the many reasons I love the nutritional company I’m with. This company truly is changing lives. It’s so much more than just weight loss and the impact on people’s health is such a blessing.

Mary, I agree as well when parents give their kids all that candy. I saw a friend & even Rachel Ray on tv give their friends and daughter baby AT 1 yrs old ice cream and cake! And the little baby’s went crazy for the sugar and just wanted more and more. They thought it was cute but all I thought about was their poor little bodies getting fed all that sugar and how it supresses their immune system. I wanted to cry. Oh, and I love that show as well. It’s awesome what Jamie Oliver has set out to do with our school systems.

    • As much as my kids complain I know they are eating for health. We have always exposed them to all kinds of food, limit premade products. Eat organic where we can, soda is a treat and not a reg.

I think starting healthy habits from the begin will give kids a good relationship with food for life. It is never to late to start.

    • I agree with all of you! Exercise is so important too. Remember when we actually went outside and played the day away? Those were the day.  I bought my little cousin a jump rope recently, she is five. She looked at it and asked me what did do you do with it? But ask her about Hanah  Montana...

    • Mary, that’s my opinion too... it starts with the parents, so I think it’s the parents that need to be educated on nutrition. I don’t buy in on the fast food is cheaper excuse. It’s not.
