Q & A

I need help, I’m passing a difficult economic time, when I say difficult, it is like this, i get pay today and because of all the bills and pass paying I have to do, tomorrow I would not have money to buy gas for car or go food shopping. I want to get and second job but I have not found anything. I used to work at night and that help me, but I don’t want to work in that kind of place any more, it was a bar. I’m thinking about the surveys, what you think about that? Please any idea, could help, thank you for you help?

    • I’ve tried the surveys. That was about 2 years ago. They promise all kinds of pay, but in my experience they don’t deliver. Most of the “pay” was in the form of some sort of points, or discounts at places, or whatever. I worked my *** off for a survey company that promised good pay, and never made a red hot cent!

So sorry you‘re having a difficult time. This is a really hard job situation many people are having. I wish I could be more help. You are in my prayers.

    • Ivegon1:  Don’t waste your time on surveys....time consuming....and when you break it down to what they pay ...IF THEY PAY YOU...and the amount of time you have spent...divide it out...how much did you really make an hour?  And I think some our scams!

Check out what Coralee has to offer....

Also...I’m in a new jewelry business that is really taking off nationwide...celebs are wearing this jewelry....it’s a minimal amt. to get into...and it’s fun!  You make your own hours...my niece sold a necklace to someone while she was shopping in Target.  She was wearing and the person stopped her to ask her about her necklace.  Loved it...and ordered it.  I’ll be glad to talk to you about that as well....
      Go to:  www.stelladot.com/maryclark518

Look around the site...and you can see some awesome looking jewelry that is“hot” and you can also see about the company!
I also sell Beauticontrol Cosmetics!  This all might not help you “tomorrow“..but it’s something you can work towards so you are not in the position again!  The harder you work your business the better the awards you reap! Simple!

My email is:  maryclark518@gmail.com  if you have any questions.  Lots of women on FAB40 sell lots of products.  You just have to find what you have a passion for and one that is going to fit into your lifestyle, and what that is affordable for you to get into.  But working for yourself...is hard work...you make your business..it’s up to you!  But...I truly believe you can make more for yourself than you could say working a 9-5 job to make minimum wage or even $15 hour.  It also takes discipline.

Best of luck....you can do it if you put your mind to it!
Look at one of the blogs underneath me...called Stella & Dot Hoopla-One Tribe Video....to me...this pumps me up ...to do whatever I want to do!

      happy

    • Forget the surveys, you need cash money not points or gift cards. What is it that you can do on the side to make money? How about finding a better paying full time position? First, think about your skills, what you can moonlight in, so to speak. Ask yourself the following: Do you have any training in home care for elderly or children? Can you type? Use a cash register? Keep books? Take inventory? Organize someone’s space? Shop for those too busy to do it themselves? How far are you willing to travel to a part time job? Do you have an updated resume you can post online or mail out? Have you applied at nearby supermarkets, stores, restaurants, hospitals and nursing homes?

As far as paying all of your past bills, that is all well and good, but I wouldn’t give up all of my money to bills. Rent, food and utilities are the top; you need a roof over your head, food in your stomach and light to see with. Try to partially pay the bills, but don’t short yourself of the basics, no matter what you owe and to whom.

I think I can help you get your resume out there, even making copies for you to send out. Send me a message after you answer those questions above. Remember, there’s always a light at the end of a tunnel if you look hard enough.

    • All of you have offered great options, I have but one more to add, please make certain that your creditors are aware of your cirmcumstances. “you can’t get blood from a turnip“. When my financial picture took a nose dive, I made certain that my creditors were made aware. In order to make certain that we “ate everyday” until my circumstances improved I also went to a food pantry in my neighborhood. The irony, I used to volunteer there. But you know what God is in the Blessing business. I am employed now 3 weeks. I am attending classes to start my own business. What the Lord has done for me, He will do for you. Sincerely, I am not a “bible thumper“, but I am a Believer. It does not mean that you won’t go through trials and tribulations, but through Faith, you will come out of them smelling like a rose. Be Blessed my beautiful sisterheart

If you turn your problems over to Him....and truly give them up...he’ll provide for you...PROMISE....  but you have to believe...and you have to have FAITH...and you have to truly LET THE ISSUES GO.  When you do....and you really do...you will know...those worries and burdens will be gone...

      PRAY...PRAY...PRAY...
And I will be praying for you as well.....

    • sorry to hear you are having a most difficult time!  It is so bad on some level for everyone!
I work 2 jobs=60 hours a week. I also do ebay and have done ebay for about 10 years. Its not real steady but everybit helps.
do you have any skills such as helping grade school kids with their homework,I know around here, lots of folks are hired as helpers for the older folks. If you think you could be good at that as far as helping and being a companion to the elderly, check with area nursing and long term care places.
holiday help will be hired soon for department stores, etc...

I would say no to the surveys as well........been there and doesnt pay much if at all. Please let us know how you are doing, and God bless you!

    • I don't have any job or income suggestions for you, but there's ways to save money here and there to share with you that I can do for you. Save on your power bill. Put electricity guzzling appliances on power strips to turn them completely off, or unplug them. Shop at a discount grocery store like, Grocery Outlet, for pet food where it costs half the price than in a regular grocery store. You will find other items for less there too, like bread, cheese, milk, eggs, laundry & paper products. I found olive oil for dollars less than at my grocery store. Even toothpaste costs less. It stretches a low income further. Cut all the "fluff" that's upping your family's bills. Like cable TV... don't pay for TV. Check out what you pay for on your phone bill. Do you really need caller ID? Talk to your credit card companies to lower your interest rates. This works if you've been with them a long time. Pay down your cards with the highest interest rates first by adding as much as possible to the payments. If you have more than 2 cards, you have too many. Keep your oldest ones, get rid of store credit cards because they cost you more in interest rates. And the easiest tip of all, Stop Shopping! No eating out, not even fast food. For one month. That will tell you more about where your income goes than anything will. If you haven't stretched your income further in one month you can come back and let me hear it.

      Hang in there!
      Cathie

    • Stop and re-thing everything!!

I dont know the details of your situation, but try to look at your options in a whole new way.

      Rent your spare bedroom.
      Rent your attic or garage.
If you are renting an apartment, give it up and rent a room in somone else’s home. You will get a great space for 1 monthly fee and all the utility bills are ususally included.
      Sell stuff on ebay.
Trade all your bills for skills you can provide.
(Offer to clean or babysit for the dentist)
If you are leasing or have a car payment, sell it and buy something for under $5000 and insure it with min. liability.
Share childcare with another mom. Trade time.
Overnight childcare pays very well and you are paid while you sleep. I was the hotel nanny with a service and paid crazy money.
Work where you are tipped. Not just for bars and restaurants. Conceirge at hotels, car parkers, dog walkers ect.
Be creative.  Think outside the box.

Hope this helps.  More if you like.
