Do any of you buy Omaha Steaks? Some coworkers of mine convinced me to try them and after the first order, I was thoroughly hooked. Just this morning they called me and after about half an hour of listening to their specials I ordered yet again without even finishing what’s in the freezer now! What is your favorite Omaha Steak food?
I love the steak burgers. Way better than what I can buy locally. Another brand that is very good is Kansas City Steak company. You can order that brand from QVC.
I have been somewhat courious about their products. I may have to speak to my hubby about ordering some and try them out. Thanks!
Start with the top sirloin or the filet mignon and if you like salmon, they have a delicious hickory marinated salmon, perfect portions. Once you start, they send you emails of their specials. My best friend told me their coconut shrimp melts in her mouth. (For cholesterol reasons I’m staying clear of that LOL) They have seafood, chicken, lamb, pork chops and sausage, bratwurst, gourmet burgers and franks just itching for the grill!
They have desserts as well including a chocolate lovers cake which my friends at work tell me is scrumptious. They have cheesecake comparable to Juniors here in NY.
I have to laugh because I see they’ve tagged this thread with their own ad. I don’t mind spending a little extra for quality and freshness, after all it’s going in me!
I’ve heard from others that Omaha Steaks’ products are wonderful. I’ve thought of sending my mother a gift package sometime because she would never buy special things like that for herself.
I would never buy over priced steaks by mail. They are no better than what I have available locally.

Years ago, my ex and I tried the filet mignon and burgers. It was very good, but too expensive.
I have not but I get salemen at the door all the time! Now if they were willing to give me a sample to try I could make an informed decision.
BTW have you seen the movie with Ray Romano and Kevin James called Grilled? Hysterical!

Well, Tulip I’m glad you have such a good grade of beef where you live. Here in New York the grade of meat sold in the supermarket is pretty much low quality and the prices are only a couple of dollars less. I have bought steaks from the store and spent way too long searching for a well marbled cut or making do with what’s there and trimming the fat myself. Either way, the taste and texture can not be compared to Omaha Steaks and once you start buying from OS, they send coupons and email you bargains as well as free shipping. They send it UPS overnight and it comes in a styrofoam cooler packed in dry ice.
I like how everything is individually packed which for a single person is good because I don’t waste anything; usually at the store everything is packed for families. I also like going to the supermarket for the basics, vegetables, staples and juices, that means I spend less there and can put more toward quality products at OS. Three nurses at work turned me onto Omaha Steaks because even the meat at the butcher store (very few of them left) can compare to those sold in Nebraska. Vikki, now’s a good time to check their site for bargains before Labor Day!

We buy from a local farmer~ we usually get a whole beef each year. Best in the world!! IMO!
