Q & A

Regarding Cynthia’s question about clothing shrinking......do you have family member’s that wash a load and leave them in the washer?  Hubby’s daughter has a bad habbit of putting her clothe’s in and leaving them until I need it!

    • Neicy I feel your pain.  I just feel that since she is almost 21 she’s old enough to start her clothes and finish em.  I have no problem with her drying them and setting them aside.  It’s a real drag when you open the washer after the clothes have set there for 3 day’s and they stink big time.tongue out

    • Angel, I think you and I have the same stepdaughter! Sometimes the little princess leaves the clothes in there and goes back to bed. I bet  you and I could have one hell of a discussion over coffee!

    • Cynthia you got that right!  LOL  She’s actually put them in on a Friday and left them there until Monday!!!  She stay’s at her bf’s a lot and yes I could throw them in the dryer and remove them but if I keep doing that for her she’ll keep on leaving em in there.  I know it sound’s petty to some but until you live it..........tongue out

    • Sadly, I am the one at our house that does that.  It’s not intentional.  I just totally forget that I’ve started a load.  But, since it drives hubby nuts I’ve been trying really hard not to do that.

    • Not petty at all! My sister in law remembers when she used to do that in high school. She said that on a visit here once, she did this girl’s laundry 3 times because she left her things in the washer!

    • Well sence my washer broke I have been doing laundry at the laundromat, so I guess I really don’t have that problem. But! I do hate when people put thier clothes in the dryer and leave. So when their clothes are done, they are just sitting in the dryer and I’m talking like 4 or 5 dryers full of clothes, so if one of us needs those dryers we can’t use them.heartbreak I can’t wait to get a new washer..gguurrrrrr!!

    • my boys have been guilty of this, but they try to be mindful as i’ve threatened to make them wear their smelly clothes instead of wasting my electricity, water and detergent on rewashing

    • No, but I’ve forgotten a few times over the years and gads the smell of them is awful! Not petty to me since I’ve irritated myself with it! LOL  (And I wouldn’t do her laundry for her.)

    • My friend who is always immaculate does this and her place smells of dirty water - plus she always seems to trash her clothes in the washer I have often taken stuff home and washed it as it irritates me no end seeing her boil wash a very expensive jumper and wonder why it’s shrunk .....

    • Yes, my 23 yr old son and 20 yr old daughter.  They both do their own laundry and often forget about it, so I just pull it out when I notice it and leave it in a basket for them.  I don’t dry it if it comes out of the washer and I don’t fold or put it away if it comes out of the dryer.  I just leave the basket sitting there waiting for them...

I have bitched at them somewhat because I have a front loading washer and the door needs to stay open so the big gasket dries and it doesn’t stink.  This isn’t a huge issue, most probably because the washer/dryer are at the end of the kitchen and everyone has to walk by them to get anywhere in the house.
