    • I just don’t know that I’m ready to go gray but my gray roots are so prevalent and grow so fast. I have my hair done every 4 weeks but it seems like within 2 weeks or so that gray line starts to show.

    • Me too Cynthia. I just hate having to color my hair so often. But I have thought the exact same thing. This week, I’m headed to the health store to pick up a box of a much, much lighter color...maybe. worried

    • My stylist has been going progressively lighter on me but it’s now starting to look brassy. She said that she can only go so far with it until I have to either live with coloring it often, go gray, or go blonde.

    • Cynthia...I had to start coloring my own hair because it was coming in way to fast and I couldn’t afford to keep it up as fast it was coming. An so far..I do rather well.  My hair is is not going to be a pretty gray...rather sort of mousy....is what I call it.  So...I just keep coloring...and make the best of it.  If it were a pretty gray...I might even let it go...but it’s not.

    • Well, mine come in BRIGHT WHITE! espically around my face frown so i use a light brown or a dark blonde.. i dont want anything too drastic! and the color is so subtle, that people dont realize its colored.. lol

And like Cynthia’s hairdresser stated... when you have dark hair there is only so far you can take it too..

i am thinkin of just lettin mine go! lol white and all heart

    • nope.  I’d look awful as a blonde!  I used to do my own “work” until we did the bathrooms over, now I don’t want to ruin the work! LOL  I wait until I can’t stand how much gray is there and then have my hairdresser do it-I bring the dye w/ me.

    • It’s really hard to get blonde hair without spending a lot of money.  When I try to color it blonde at home, it turns out reddish.  I’m going to try to stick to what’s closest to my natural color.  You look nice as a brunette, Cynthia.

    • I could not be a blonde either. Have you tried Clairol root touch up? It is so easy to use in between colorings. Maybe using it you could go longer between getting it colored. Just ask your stylist what color number she is using on your hair.

    • I color my own hair. Usually, I do strands of dark brown and the next time I’ll do strands of blonde. Sometimes, I’m a little blonder than other times. I have had brown or blonde both, I was auburn for a year or so too.   When ever I have had any brassy tones after adding blonde to my hair, I’ll run a bit of brown through it for just a few minutes and it takes the brass away. I do think the varied tones, help so I don’t have to color as often. A year ago I chose dark brown and not only did it fade TOOO QUICKLY, my roots showned too fast too. I just couldn’t keep up with it.

I always have people ask me who colors my hair. I have done it myself for nearly twenty years. It started when my kiddles were young and I couldn’t stand making that long appt. that took time away from my family.

This time, I actually chose to dye it all over with a dark blonde. and then a few blonde streaks, it doesn’t really appear different from my profile picture, but underneath it is much more even.

      ...uggh hair.

      Mindy

    • I recently colored my hair brown-black, which looked lovely but 6 weeks later, my roots are showing and I’m about to buy a box of Root Rescue! I had vowed not to dye my gray, but I got tired of looking at the gray! My ponytail looked like a paintbrush dipped in silver.

    • Cynthia..I am going through the same thing, so my friend/hairstylist suggested a medium brown with caramel highlights and six weeks ago she tried “peekaboo” highlights that were done from underneath the hair framing my face and that was a dark blonde and it looks fantastic.  I am headed to her place on Friday for a touch-up, but I will post a pic, I promise to show you what it looks like..my hairstyle is an angled bob, short in the back and going longer on the sides with a long bang, so with all of the color combination, the gray really only shows in the area where my part is and the root touch up can help for that.happy

    • If I had your coloring and gorgeous hair, Cynthia, I’d go for a touch up kit between colorings. If you went blond you’d have dark roots, which is more difficult to cover between colorings than the greys are.

My hair is like Victorious’ and one friend says it’s a streaky platinum. She though I was paying for it. Nope... it’s a freebie from nature.

    • The blonde wouldn’t look good with my skin color either. I will just keep going to the salon and getting my hair dyed and highlighted. If not then let the grey grow In, I’ve earned it...LOL!
