    • My husband’s 29 year old daughter has been with us for a year and a half. Before that she was living with her mother. She’s only been on her own for a brief time about 6 years ago. I don’t see any end to this.

My brother’s son got out of the military, got married and now both of them are living with my brother, who is getting married next summer. There’s no real end in sight there, either. I can’t imagine him getting married and moving his new bride into a very small house with his adult son and wife there - and only one bathroom!

      Anyone else going through this?

    • my oldest has made it back home several times, but i always tease him about not ending up like his dad still living at home....my youngest tells me he plans on staying with me for a couple of years after he graduates...i hope not, i’ve always said once you are 18, you are out of my house (unless still in school)

    • I have not had the problem, but it is a possibility right now for a lot of families, with the recession, and the loss of jobs.
The one good thing I can see about this recession is the fact that families are coming together and working together towards a common goal (saving money).
Unfortunately, this includes a few kids that enjoy living at home and dont want to leave.

    • Cynthia- I sure hope she doesn’t follow you when Joe retires and you move to the mainland!  My daughter and I moved back home for 5 months when i was first separated from my ex.  Not a good idea.

    • Unfortunately yes.frown  My husbands 33 year old moved back from HI and lived with us for about 9-10 months.  I am not kidding one bit......he moved out on a Monday and Tuesday his 20 yr. old daughter moved back in.

We just went to Arkansas for 5 day’s and got home last Wed. evening.  Am going out of town this weekend because my girlfriend invited us up.  At first I didn’t want to go out of town so soon but as this morning I do.  (I could vent for well over and hour but I won’t).  I think you can understand why I’m going back out of town this Friday.
