Q & A

We are going to England in June. Suppose to anyway. Trouble is I dont want to go this time unless we only stay a week in Manchester (his family there....not immediate aunts, uncles ect) I want to spend more time with our family. Last time it was for 3weeks 2 were in manchester,Wales,Ireland....the last was to be London and France. So this time I want to go London, France, Germany,Ireland, Wales then Manchester for like 3 days tops. Hubby says thats costing more and leaves to little time.
I think we should pick a completely different vacation as a compramize. Any thoughts ( his family comes here every year or at least every other)

    • tongue out I think your being selfish. Where ever my husband says we are going we go and we have a good time. Look at the amount of money he wants to spend just so you can have a nice trip. Why would you want to ruin his vacation? Or you could always stay home and let him go. Sounds like he would have a better time anyway. To me your acting spoiled and its NOT all about you! I feel bad for your husband. Hubby?? Your not 20 ! Husband is mature and respectful. Maybe thats part of the problem you need to grow up.

    • Cristen,
Sweetie, you are the one who is sick and I should think that your husband would let you pick the vacation sites this time. Why do you have to go to Manchester at all when you see the relatives quite frequently anyway? Good luck! heartheart

Anonymous, I pity you as it sounds like you‘re married to some sort of control freak who does not take your ideas and opinions about where you might like to go on vacation into account at all.  There’s nothing mature about being a door mat.

    • My situation is a little different, my husbands close relatives NEVER come to see us; we always go there!  I want to go somewhere else, have been to England a number of times already!  He has gone a few times by himself which is fine with me, but I’m going soon as I have not been for a while, so......

I don’t think you are being selfish at all, if you see his family here, why do you need to see them there also!  Not right at all and you DO have a say where you go on vacation, as metioned above, you are a partner AND an equal in the marriage.

    • I like the idea of thinking outside the box and coming together for an entirely different vacation. How about Greece? Italy? Turkey? Egypt?

    • OH, first anonymous,....Wow....I’m trying to think very polietely how to tell you exactly what I think of your comment and the fact that you do not know what in the world you are talking about. So,...as far as me being selfish...ok maybe this time I am and I can except that and acknowledge it. But, First...Lady and I am using that very lossly at the moment...Stating that my HUBBY would have a better time with out me when you have absolutely no idea of our relationship actually shows you need to grow up. And from now one if you don’t like anything I write first why read it and second dont respond. If you don’t want to play nice just stay in your room. Thank you.
@ Annie123, Catfan, anonymous 2nd posting and Cathie... Thank you all for your words of support.
@kyah, OOOOO Greece??? You know I when growing up spendt alot of time traveling the U.S. and my dad took us to all 50 states and we took an Rv most of the time flew the rest we say all the high points and some of the low(worlds biggest ball ot twine or string???) very low So, I was actually wanting to skip the over seas. Ive been blessed with alot of travel and I know this is selfish and that is perfectly ok with me this time. For usally ladies I am very happy with majority vote wins in our family on things like this. But, I really want to stay in the states this year. There is so much here that my daughter needs to see. My hubby will do what ever I ask him to and I know in his mind he is thinking of the costs of hotels vs costs of staying with family. And I fell in love with my cheap hubby and I drive him nuts with my non cheap ways lol but we have fun stories to tell.
But it will be where we both agree or Im willing to even put it up to fate.... or we can stay home and go to disneyland for all I care....ok I care lol
thank you my friends for reading me ramble...LOLheart

    • Cris, books & movies is my mode of travel these days. Next weekend is a big thrill, I’m going on a road trip to my brother’s for his birthday. Want to see some of the town he’s living in this time. It’s another old mining town in this region and I may be moving there or close to it after the X buys me out.  ;oD
