    • For me, I love listening to classical music now because it is very soothing and relaxing. There was a time in my life where I couldn’t stand to hear classical music but Lord if I don’t just love it now! I also can’t tolerate noise. My 3 yr old grandbaby and his parents have been living with me since July and I just love him sooooooo much but wow is he LOUD and noisy...it drives me crazy and I can’t wait until he moves out with his parents in hopefully another month. I need my peace and quiet back. I will enjoy seeing him on the weekends. happy

    • Angell, I totally understand you on the noise aspect as my sons are 2.5 and 7.  Add a barking dog and no wonder I constantly have headaches!!

Hence, I love silence and sometimes, when I make my 1.5 hour commute to work, I don’t even turn the radio on.  Whereas, I remember when I was much younger and before I had kids, I would have the radio blaring.

I can no longer eat Taco Bell food...it upsets my stomach and I do miss it even though it’s not good for you.

    • Angell I’m with you and Dianne on the noise. Jazelle was here yesterday and she just would not stop talking. My head felt like it was about to explode. Finally at 5:00 I said to her “I need 1 minute, just 1 minute of total silence.” She said “ok, I’ll just talk to myself.” “No, No, neither of us will talk, total silence.” She did it but I could see it was killing her to be quiet.

I’m also with Ruby on the food. I know that certain things I could eat with no consequence now make me feel lousy.

    • Dog hair.  Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs.  Up until a year and a half ago, I’ve always had a dog or two or five.  Literally from the day I was born till Flash the Wonderdog disappeared I’ve always had a dog.  Now that I haven’t had one around for awhile, I’m finding that I can’t stand the dog hair in the house when the grandpuppy comes to visit.  Love the grandpuppy, hate the hair on and in everything.

    • NOICE! I love kids and in retail well they are all over so, if I walk into a store Im doing a training visit with and there is a child ( or two ) screaming , crying, ect I grit my teeth and wait abit before going in. If they dont leave right away I have no choice and then it gets me in a snarley mood..
T.v. Is loud and addicting and mostly crap. I use to love tv but now very very few tv shows I watch on a weekly basis.
My patience is also sometimes shorter over things that would have never bothered me years ago.

    • Oh definitely! I can listen to some opera now, where before it didn’t appeal to me. Kids screaming in public makes me want to tell the mothers to gain control of their children. As a mother of 4 now grown children who could be embarrassing brats in public when little, it seems ridiculous. Oh, and I don’t mind being ridiculous at times. LOL  I’m also not shy of talking to strangers anymore... if they aren’t creepy or dangerous looking.

This is the brief version of changes of being "my age".

    • The noise from unruly children or loud obnoxious teenaged girls chattering on their cell phones or with each other on the bus seems to irritate me a whole lot more since I’ve reached beyond 50. Thank goodness for MP3 players and good ear buds.
